My collection of 80's albums is pretty poor compared to other decades (you'd better make a best of 70's  ), but I'll try:

REM - Murmur
U2 - Joshua Tree
Donald Fagen - The Nightfly
Def Leppard - Hysteria (best pop metal album of the 80's, period  )
Prince - Sign O' The Times

Don't worry. It's coming.

Pssh. Don't give me that. It's not my fault you people can't read.

I asked specifically for the best "Ablum" of the 80's here. You retards keep giving me "Albums".

But I guess we can do it your way if you want.

Hey, is this limited to studio albums? If so (well...probably either way, if you wanna know the truth), I'll begrudgingly have to go with The Joshua Tree. Nothing against one of my favorite records in history (or Remain in Light or even Stop Making Sense, if live albums count), but the '80s kinda sucked, in a lot of ways...

the 80s sucked musically.

so this is a contest between joshua tree and thriller.

and i think thriller wins.

Honorable mentions to Boy, The Joshua Tree, and Peter Gabriel's So.
