I think it's his most consistent work yet. Not necessarily the best, but very, very good. "Landed," "Jesusland," "Gracie," "Trusted," "Late," "Time," and "Bastard" are all great songs.

I like Trusted, You to Think, Jesusland, and Landed the best. Awesome piano work, much more complex than RTS even tho i like that one a bit more still.

I just got it, it's my first Ben Folds album and I honestly never heared of him before but it was recommended to me.
I like it very much, I love Jesusland and Trusted. Love the piano.

I agree with UL - it's a very, very solid album from start to finish. Some are better than others, but all the songs are at the very least quite good.

Anyone get the dualdisc version of it? CD on one side, dvd with surround mix and short documentary on the back. The mini-documentary is really cool - gives a good behind the scenes look at the album and it's making.

So yeah, just got out of a relationship. I put a lot of myself into this, trying to make it work despite the fact that I knew it wasn't meant to. We were just too different in our emotional needs, and she admitted she couldn't give me what I needed. And that she was in love with someone else (though she hadn't cheated on me). So this song really resonates right now. I'm a bit sad, but I'm also feeling strangely liberated. So here be the lyrics for Landed.

We'd hit the bottom
I thought it was my fault
And in a way I guess it was
I'm just now finding out
What it was all about

We moved to the west coast
Away from everyone
She never told me that you called
Back when I was still
I was still in love

But I opened my eyes and walked out the door
And the clouds came tumbling down
And it's "bye-bye. Goodbye, I tried"
And I twisted it wrong just to make it right
I had to leave myself behind
And I've been flying high all night
So come pick me up
I've landed

The daily dramas
She made from nothing
So nothing ever made them right
She liked to push me
And talk me back down
Until I believed I was the crazy one
And in a way I guess I was

When I opened my eyes and walked out the door
And the clouds came tumbling down
And it's "bye-bye. Goodbye, I tried"
Treading the sea of her troubled mind
I had to leave myself behind
Now it's "bye-bye. Goodbye, I tried"

If you wrote me off
I'd understand it
'Cause I've been on
Some other planet
So come pick me up
I've landed

And you will be so happy to know
I've come alone
It's over

I opened my eyes and walked out the door
And the clouds came tumbling down
And it's "bye-bye. Goodbye, I tried"
Down comes the reign of the telephone czar
It's ok to call
I will answer for myself
Come pick me up
I've landed
