he doesn't beat his wife, he's never been arrested for anything, hardly ever goes on the DL, and, with the exception of Jeff Kent, is liked by his teammates... yet he's "standoffish" with the press and doesn't feed them with constant soundbites, so he's portrayed in the media as an "asshole," just like Eddie Murray was.
