And in the last 12 weeks got precisely zero English practice because they spent the entire time in Chinese classes talking in Chinese to Chinese people.

I've been telling my cousin's parents that he may as well have stayed in Malaysia; he's not interacted with any Aussies, goes to Trinity with a bunch of Malaysians and speaks to them in Malay. And when he's at home, all he does is sit in front of his laptop, literally 24/7 bar meals.
