In the spirit of my usual listening practices, I'm re-evaluating The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway simply because Axver loathes it. 
I will give that it's arguably the most pretentious album ever to actually gain commercial success and, ordinarily, I despise that sort of thing. Somehow, this album appeals to me, however. In The Cage is the most epic fucking thing on the album, and a truly great song in its own right, while Carpet Crawlers is a brilliant pop anthem of sorts. I find the second half to be mildly disheartening, as it manages to drag the album out well past its expiration date, and there aren't many tracks I would return to on a regular basis, outside of Lilywhite Lilith, which I adore. That's not to say any of those tracks are in any way terrible (I personally hate Counting Out Time from disc 1, but that's about it); ultimately, the issue is that it's too much of a good thing. Anyway, Foxtrot and Selling England are better, but I still really like this one.
