I'm not 2sure what this thread is really about.but when have I let that stop me
U said"Australia"
I'm reading out loud again...it helps. Another literary masterpiece to recommend.(I've only got as far as the introduction, it looks promising)
"Dinkum Aussie Bicentenary- The real story of the founding of Australia" by Bob Ryan
"there's more to history than fun and laughter- it is a serious subject..But as is too often the case, reporters, writers and historians tend to overdo the hard stories while ignoring the fun. For example, when two First Fleet convicts Anthony Rope and Margaret Pulley, married soon after landing in their new country...."
This hasn't got anything at all to do with the price of chooks or Russell Crowe or U2 or anything much really at all, except well
"our island home" I have news about Picasso from OZ...more grumblings
here's a serious recommendation. Mungo McCallum is a very witty semi-retired political journalist. He has just published a new book based on the things he observed during his time in the hallowed halls.I can't recall the title.I think it would be insightful, funny and a bit more comtemporary than my usual recommendations...........
and it might have a picture of Russell Crowe in it.
