so true, U2 wasn't in my top 50 a few months ago, when the Madrid show was coming up, they jumped like 40 positions

they are now #10

That's like me with Zoo Station. When I find out that another song has taken over its number one slot, I go and listen to it a few more times.

so i'm not the only one who sees a song/band climbing the charts, and feels the need to listen to the old #1s to even things out again?

or there's too much a gap between #1 and 2, so i listen to 2 some more to even it out.

Well, I check my listening stats often, I mean like 5 to 10x a day, but I am trying not to make an effort to keep any certain song in first place.

Wouldn't mind seeing Moby drop a few places and be replaced by Arcade Fire and Darkness though

EDIT: Wow, first week ever U2 isn't in my top 5 listens...

01 Elvis Costello & The Attractions
02 Death in Vegas
03 Elvis Costello
04 The Arcade Fire
05 The Darkness
06 U2
07 Heart
07 The Velvet Underground
09 Paul McCartney
10 Television

Audioscrobbler / Last.fm

I check my stats about a million times every day. I've got to stop listening to my library on shuffle, there's some embarrassing stuff that pops up there when I walk away from the computer for a while.

Ha, there was a week or two when U2 didn't even feature in my top-listened artist of the week category! Here's the current one:

01. U2
02. Radiohead
03. Franz Ferdinand (er, what happened there?)
04. New Century Chamber Orchestra (from the new Shostakovich CD I bought...yum)
05. Joy Division (still on a U2/Arcade Fire/Joy Division high since that Montreal bootleg)
06. Echo & The Bunnymen
07. Interpol
08. Pink Floyd
09. Wolf Parade
10. The Arcade Fire

Woops here I am!

U2 have been my Top Weekly and Overall Artist forever, but today, oops, another artist's track passed a U2 song!

I feel great though, having read this whole thread through and find that there are so many fun U2-fans with this Audioscrobble thingy going on.

And yeah, feel free to add me.

Yeah. Some random person commented on a journal entry of mine asking if I could introduce him to Radiohead's music. It kind of scared me.

I'm scared.

At my current pace, U2 might be pushed from the top artist spot in mere months. The forces of darkness are spreading throughout my playlists and are threatening to overcome our lovely irish quartet.

Is there anything I can do to combat this? Superman! Where are you?!
