I did see QUEEN w/Freddy (R.I.P.) on 'The Game' tour at was then Irvine Meadows (outdoor ampitheater)

Of course I would have to say the U2 shows/tours I missed (Before the "War" tour which I saw, and before Zoo TV). I had a ticket for the US Festival, but I had been to the "metal" day the day before with 200,000+ people and it was a nightmare, logistically. Bowie/Nicks... (and U2) played the next day, but we recuperated and drove home

But of bands I never got to see that I regret missing or couldn't see (not old enough, etc.)

LED ZEPPELIN (would have seen them when they had planned to tour in 1980, but Bonham died, and that was that...)
BEATLES (if you could have heard them play. My high school teacher was an usher at Dodger Stadium when they played there in the 60s)

And yes, 70s Genesis would have been Saw early 80s Genesis and Peter Gabriel solo, and 80s/2000 Yes, but never 70s (I was a kid, and unaware). If you like 70s Genesis, don't miss 'Music Box' if/when they tour. They're incredible and the closest you will get to the real thing, if ever they reunite... I am RAEL!

I saw lucky enough to see INXS (with Michael) when I was 13. They were incredible. Part of me wants to see the new band when they come in November, but I'm not sure.

If I could step inside my time machine, I'd definitely go see Pink Floyd, Queen, and Led Zeppelin. I'd also use my cloak of invisibility to visit The Beatles in the studio...I'd pour myself a cup of coffee and just take it all in. Hopefully that cup of coffee would also be invisible, or the band would think they were on some serious LSD trip.

Nirvana!! I had a chance to see them the one and only time they came to adelaide - but i had to work that night, and thought 'oh, they'll be back again, i'll see them then...'
I've never made that mistake again!!!!

Wish I'd gone to see:

U2's The Unforgettable Fire tour

Jeff Buckley

Damien Rice

For the tours that never came to Oz, I wish I'd travelled to see

U2 - The Joshua Tree tour

The Waterboys - Fishermans Blues tour

Good topic with some good responses.

Here's my wish list:

1) U2 //Lovetown tour, maybe 11-18-89 to include Hawk269 live

2) U2 //ZooTV, probably Sydney to catch Lemon

3) Pink Floyd // pretty much anything from 1971-1977, and again from 1987-1994 (saw them in 1994)

4) Waterboys // This is the Sea tour with Wallinger still in the band

5) Peter Gabriel // 1992-94 Secret World tour (SO tour fine, too)

6) Crowded House // 1991 or 1993/94 tours

7) Afghan Whigs // anything from 1998/99 tour which I actually did see once

8) BRUCE // 1988 Tunnel of Love Express Tour, second would be one of those 4 hr epic 1980 River tour shows.

9) Def Lep // 1987 Hysteria tour (guilty pleasure)

10) Simple Minds // 1984 Sparkle in the Rain tour with the classic lineup

Others: Radiohead pre-2000, Stone Roses circa 1989, Depeche Mode/Electronic 1988 Rose Bowl show, Pearl Jam/Nirvana/Pumpkins show circa 1991, plenty of other candidates
