Premiership Round 1 Fixtures

The National v Pearl Jam 0-3
I honestly know nothing about The National.

Porcupine Tree v The Who 3-2
While The Who have a much stronger discography, I find Porcupine Tree’s best way better than The Who’s.

The Rolling Stones v David Bowie 1-3
I only like a handful of Stones songs so I’ll give them a point. Bowie is just amazing. Outside is utterly brilliant.

The Smiths v Arcade Fire 3-1
While I like Arcade Fire, they can’t compare to a band that gave us Meat Is Murder and The Queen Is Dead.

Coldplay v Led Zeppelin 3-1
I actually find that AROBTTH and Viva la Vida to be better than Zeppelin record.

The Verve v Radiohead 3-0
I really like The Verve and I think Radiohead is one of the worst bands I have ever heard.

The Clash v Bruce Springsteen 2-2
I’ve only liked one Springsteen record and nothing by The Clash.

Crowded House v R.E.M. 0-3
Never been impressed by Crowded House.

Wilco v The Beatles 0-3
I just can’t see the appeal of Wilco.

Pink Floyd v U2 2-3
U2 is my second favorite band while I think Pink Floyd is my fourth favorite.

I have never understood the love for Muse.

Split Enz v Leonard Cohen 3-1
Split Enz if only for the first half of Time For A Change.

The Flaming Lips v Elbow 0-0
The Lips are pretty unimpressive while I don’t know much about Elbow.

Travis v Tom Petty 0-1
Haven’t heard Travis before and not really a fan of Tom Petty.

Ryan Adams v Live 0-0
Don’t really anything about Ryan Adams except that Bonochick leaves him and Live is just terrible.

The Killers v Peter Gabriel 0-3
The Killers are pretty overrated and Peter Gabriel is a genius.

Jeff Buckley v Oasis 0-0
Not a fan of either.

Pavement v The Kinks 0-0
Who and overrated.

Bright Eyes v The Shadows 3-0
Bright Eyes make some really beautiful music and The Shadows have never impressed me from the little I’ve heard.

Bob Dylan v Blur 0-0
Bob Dylan is one of the most overrated artists ever and I plain don’t like Blur.

I only know Rush and don’t like them.

Foo Fighters v Frank Sinatra 0-0
Not a Foo Fighters fan and I can’t stand Sinatra. Terribly overrated.

Alice in Chains v Elvis Costello 0-0
Don’t care for either.

Nirvana v Beck 0-0
See above.

Pixies v Queen 0-3
“Oh-oh people of the Earth”

The Dresden Dolls v Jane's Addiction 3-0
Fucking mimes.

Common v Nouvelle Vague 0-0
Don’t care for Common and don’t know the other.

Sam Cooke v New Order 0-1
New Order is okay.

Sugababes v Van Halen 0-1
Van Halen is okay.

Midnight Oil v Pure Reason Revolution 0-3
The Dark Third is top five of the decade in my opinion.

Most of the artists in this division are pretty bad.

I think we all should drink whenever someone breaks out the "overrated" tag in one of these threads. I know GAF's with me on this.

I'll get my cranberry juice powerjuice ready.

Third Division B Round 1 Fixtures

The Shins v Pulp 0-0
I don’t know either.

Jimi Hendrix v Talking Heads 2-3
Talking Heads is slightly better in my mind.

Sigur Rós v Britney Spears 3-0
I just wish the rest of Sigur Ros’s discography could be as good as their debut.

Belle & Sebastian v Elvis 0-0
Elvis is also incredibly overrated as an artist.

The Doors v Avril Lavigne 3-0
The End. Nuff said.

INXS v Bloc Party 1-0
INXS is okay.

Catherine Wheel v John Lennon 0-2
Not a big fan of any of The Beatles’s solo work.

Sex Pistols v Morrissey 0-3
Punk was a terrible thing.

Jacques Brel v Eagles 0-0
Don’t know much by Brel.

Black Sabbath v Joy Division 2-3
Both just rock.

Poor The National. It looks like they're getting trounced. Great band, regardless.

Question - what if you are not familiar/haven't heard music by some of the artists on the list? Do they get an automatic "0"?

If you don't know either band 0-0

If you know one it's really up to you, if you love the band you know or think they're great you might as well give them the win if you don't then a draw is probably best
