Artist Index: a-z

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Bent - downloaded some stuff but haven't listened to it yet :/. They sounded cool

Bowie - really dig his new album, saw him live this summer with Moby and Tiesto. Very cool.

BT- wicked shit, my favourite of the B-bunch

overall can't think of too many B artists that I'm very fond of.

Before we get too far from A, I have to recommend the band AIM. They have one album that's really hard to find, but I managed to download it from kazaa.. it's very very downtempo hiphop (not triphop though) and it's really excellent.

Buuren, Armin van - yes, this is the third thread i have mentioned him in today!! :|

Bently Rhythm Ace

Back Rebel Motorcycle Club

Ben Folds Five/Ben Folds

from A: Richard Ashcroft

I'll second Badly Drawn Boy. it took me awhile to get into it, but that's some amazing music, with beautiful lyrics and acoustic guitar.

I saw them last night actually, and I was literally blown away!!

Cohen, Leonard
Is there even a better lyrics writer in all the world?!?!? beautiful stuff

Cash, Johnny[/i]
the only kind of country music I like.

The Cartigans
really refreshing music. Very innovative. I would compare them to portishead

Case, Neko
Lead singer of the New Pornographers gone solo...and it is great!
Not at all like her indie rock band...much more mellow with the slightest hints of country.

Elvis Costello

erm...how the hell did i forget my favorite artist ever, and the man responsible for my favorite album ever (Get Happy!!)? i dunno, but i'm listing him now :)

C is for....

THE CLASH - My second favourites after U2. They rocked IMO.

CROWDED HOUSE - 'Dont Dream Its Over' is one of the finest pop songs ever.

THE CARDIGANS - I only own Gran Turismo, but its a nice album with a handful of great songs.

THE CHARLATANS (UK) - Again i only have their most recent album, cos i heard their single ' A Man Needs To Be Told' and loved it. I think it has Daniel Lanois on pedal steel, a la The Ground Beneath Her Feet.

COCTEAU TWINS

All i can think of for now...

I second The Clash and Crowded House. Both great, great bands. The Charlatans own too, but I only have their live album (one heck of a jam at the end of Sproston Green). Well I can't think of any C artistes, but how about Mr Nirvana himself, Kurt Cobain? Would he count?

Edit: Oh wait, I remembered one. Camouflage, a German synthpop group from the '80s. Again, I don't know much about them, but when I was going through my 80s fascination period I loved their single 'The Great Commandment'.
