...b/c I think I am.

Although it's one of those things that doesn't bother me all the time. Rather, I can have ice cream and cheese, but certain yogourts make me ill. :yuck: And pure milk? Fuggedaboudit.

Who among you feels my pain?

I feel your pain.

But I'm a glutton for punishment. I eat dairy all the time anyway.

And I love cold large MUGS of milk. I drink milk all the time....and then suffer the consequences!

Oh, and those lactaid pills DO NOT work. :banghead:

I am, though not to a HUGE degree. It bothers me somewhat, but I'm used to it, I guess, and I NEED cheese and ice cream to live, so I have no choice.

I am. Though Sweetest_Thing... maybe you have a milke allergy because with lactose intolerance... you can still eat yoghurt. The bacteria helps to digest.

As far as lactaid goes.. never tried it. I use this product called Milk Protein. Expensive, but totally works.

Random Lactose Intolerance Info:
Every other animal except people are lactose intolerant because for some reason your ability to digest milk switches off after babyhood. Nobody knows why it was advantageous for it to switch off though. Populations who have been raising cows/drinking milk for a long long time are the most lactose tolerant... I can't remember the MOST tolerant population, I got that one wrong on the exam. But East Asians and Native Americans are pretty much 100% intolerant.

Me, I'm toleranter than can be... I say as I finish my ice cream and drink my milk.
Mmm, milk.

Hey! Someone like me!!!! Finally!

The stranger thing is that I only seem to be lactose intolerant 6 months of the year. For 6 months I can eat cereal, np, fine all's well. Then 6 months later, BAM! I'm hunched over due to milk O.D.

Strange.

Maybe. I've never thought of this. I'm going to have to see a doctor. Thanks...!

And as for those lactoiad pills, they seem to work on me so far. I know everyone needs a different dosage depending on how intolerant they are. All they do is provide the enzyme that breaks down milk.

Sometimes life hands you a lemon**cass joins the club**

Hola...you too? me too!!!

I was very ill when my youngest son was a baby, very. It has taken quite some time to recover. One of the good things that came from all that, was that I ended up meeting an ENT specialist who also operates an allergy clinic.I told them of my symptoms and they said"Classic!!" The itchy throat is a universal symptom, they said they get people who want to stick bottle brush cleaners down their necks, the itch is so maddening.Do you get that? an itch inside your ears and throat, that you can't reach? it's so hard to relieve.
I have had skin and blood tests and if I stick to the diet that eliminates all the things my blood reacted to, I feel much better. MUCH!!!But you have to be so disciplined. It has virtually led to me being unable to eat anywhere except at home...unless I don't mind getting ill...which I do. I have had reactions to food so severely, that I was seriously begging to die, the pain can be almost intolerable. I don't know what happened to cause that...it was an adult onset thing.
So yes I feel your pain,..... if I am not very careful.
I live on sanitarium So Good soy milk, vegetables, bananas and pawpaws in summer. I have very dry skin and hair, but considering how limited my diet is, it could be worse.
You can have injections that build up some sort of tolerance in your system, but I have neither desire nor money for that.

Be strong, be well, walk on
