It really irritates me how last.fm says that (Antichrist Television Blues) is poorly tagged and, as such, won't be recorded.

Pull your head out of your digital ass, last.fm.

Check out the stickied 'official reviews' thread over at Us Kids Know. Wow.

And if you haven't already, please read my review on the main page here.

Glad my tickets went on sale before the album was officially released.

The buzz is freaking enormous.

Predicted to reach #1 on Billboard.

Wild.

Was at the first night of the tour in Dublin on moday. They were brilliant needless to say. We were meant to be in seats pretty high up but ended up with standing tickets instead! Some crazy folks were paying nearly ten times face-vale for standing tickets for that gig. Anyway, for anyone going to see them, you're in for a treat! They played 6 songs from Funeral and all but one of the Neno Bible songs. The new songs sound great live but I still reckon they're a bit weaker than Tunnels, Rebellion etc.

arcadefire.net is now down due to too much traffic! I was just thinking that this site will need a plan to deal with all the new fans coming in the next weeks. There is literally new members signing up by the minute...

Heard this album for the first time this week. It sounds so much more better than Funeral.

After a few listens I'm warming up to it more, there are some very fine tracks here but I'm not sure if I'm completely bowled over by it....yet

I love No cars go and Intervention

I would like to say that the album completely lived up to the hype for me. The organ on Intervention knocked my socks off.

So far, I like it much better than Funeral. The songs I love on Funeral I LOVE, but there are only about 4 of them. overall, I think I'm going to like Neon Bible better.

from HitsDailyDouble:

KEEP THE CHART RUNNING: The initial shipment on Arcade Fire's Neon Bible has reached the unprecedented total of 400k, according to retail watchers, making it the most anticipated album in indie history, and giving it a reasonable chance of topping next week’s sales chart. While the press has played a part in the mainstreaming of the heralded Montreal band, exemplified by a meaty feature in last Sunday’s New York Times Magazine, in a more fundamental sense Arcade Fire is both the beneficiary and a needle-mover in the radically shifting landscape of today's music industry, which is increasingly becoming a business of myriad niche markets rather than one of blockbusters.

Neon Bible has an 87 on Metacritic...with probably 10 more reviews to go.

They need a bigger server or servers or something.

But the message is priceless:
"The UKK forums will be down for a while, go outside and play or something"

Well, I've finally listened to Neon Bible a few times, and I am quite impressed. Intervention and Windowsill especially are excellent, and, although I am still rather skeptical of the hype surrounding this band, they definitely have the potential to become a very important act.

Man, that A2IM deal with the radio chains for indie airplay couldn’t have come at a better time.
With first-day sales reports filtering in from the precincts, Merge’s critical darlings Arcade Fire are going head-to-head with their Christian brethren, Capitol’s Relient K for #1 on next week’s HITS Top 50.

There are a number of variables here, as Relient K’s strength in Christian bookstores and a #2 standing at iTunes could just see it nudge 100k, no small feat in today’s marketplace.

Meanwhile, Arcade Fire’s much lauded Neon Bible, #1 at iTunes, is also flirting with 100k, though it will more likely end up in the 85-90k range.

That would put both believers and heathens in competition with this week’s chart-topper, RCA/RMG’s Daughtry, for king of the sales hill.

It really will be something if Arcade Fire debuts at #1 on Billboard.

*predicts indie-hipster backlash*
