Any Thomas Pynchon fans?

It's hard to convey irony over the net (despite your constant efforts Salome

) so I'll accept that at face value and ask my question:

I just finished The Crying of Lot 49 and absolutely loved it...but I know that it's considered Pynchon's most accessible work. I've been warily eyeing Gravity's Rainbow, his seminal work, I guess, but also it seems his most convoluted. My query: Should I give it a shot? Are the rewards worth the effort?

Uhmmm, another accessible (and short) Pynchon novel is Vineland, which is set in Northern California and explores whatever happened to those "revolutionaries from the 60s" and how the country turned Reagan conservative.

I also want to tackle Gravity's Rainbow. But I haven't gathered my guts to do so yet
