I love ELO. I think one of the band members was in the George Harrison Tribute Concert by Eric Clapton. Great band!

^That would be Jeff Lynne, who is the creative force behind ELO and is also the unknown member of the Traveling Wilburys.

I'm sitting here listening to Discovery while I work. That is such an excellent album. It might be my favorite if there were a few more tunes liek Confusion, Horace Wimp and Midnight Blue instead of "Shine A Little Love" and "Last Train To London".

hey, does anyone else think "A New World Record" is due for a remastering? I would listen to that album a lot more if the production qaulity was more clear.

ELO is pretty good. I'm no expert on their stuff, though. Interestingly enough, I used to confuse ELO with the Cars when I was a kid. Is it just me, or are these 2 bands kind of in the same vein?

To be honest, I can't think of any similarities, although the Cars were good, also.

Hey guys, I bought "Moment Of Truth" yesterday. I really like it, especially "The Fox" - what a wonderfully moving and suspenseful song!

ELO's not bad. Don't know a whole lot of their stuff, but I do like what I have heard. "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" is a great song .

Also, not to take this thread's focus totally off of ELO, but Traveling Wilburys....

Definitely. Hearing Kelly Groucutt on vocals again was really cool.

ELO may not have officially been around in the 90s, but this album was an excellent alternative.

The Wilburys were awesome. Supposedly their CDs are going to be remastered and re-released, which would be nice considering they've been out of print now for ten years or so.

If you like the Wilburys stuff, you should check out ELO's Zoom from 2001, because it sounds more like the Wilburys than classic ELO (and it's still a very good album, despite the fact that it flew under everyone's radar due to virtually no promotion).

Mmhm. I've heard their stuff through various means, but don't actually own the CDs because, as you said, they're out of print, but with the possiblity of them being re-released...I'll have to keep an eye out for 'em.

Oh, yeah? Neat-I'll keep an eye out for this one, too. Thanks for the recommendation .

I only have one of their albums.
I love them!
Favorite songs:
1. Livin' Thing
2. Evil Woman
3. Ma-Ma-Ma (Song 9 on their first Greatest Hits album)
