Oh My God I love Kramer's Monologue on the bus.

I'm rather enjoying what goes down behind the scenes of figuring out old setlists.

That would have been a disaster.

Just snippet-checked 29 September 1989, which proves that Larry too is a bit clueless about stuff in a Bonoesque manner. See comments.

Great gig though.

1. Where The Streets Have No Name
2. I Will Follow
3. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For / Exodus (snippet)
4. One Tree Hill
5. God Part II
6. Desire / Not Fade Away (snippet) / So You Want To Be A Rock 'n' Roll Star (snippet)
7. All Along The Watchtower / Like A Hurricane (snippet)
8. Stand By Me
9. Bad / Norwegian Wood (snippet)
10. With Or Without You / Shine Like Stars (snippet)
11. Angel Of Harlem
12. When Love Comes To Town
13. Love Rescue Me

encore(s):
14. Bullet The Blue Sky
15. Running To Stand Still
16. All I Want Is You
17. New Year's Day
18. Pride (In The Name Of Love)

Comments: Bono gets Larry to sing the end of Stand By Me. Larry says that "I hope all you people in Australia realise you just got a first", but he had sung before: a cover of The Eagles' Tequila Sunrise on 12 December 1987.

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

I would agree. A bit hesitant to put it up, but I think I will.

And UGH, I want to add that, but we have one big problem: although there were six Dandelion Carpark gigs, we only know the dates of the first and last. I'm guessing that was one in between. Trying to think of a course of action.

Adam and Edge were in a car accident the day before the London Tour, resulting in Edge playing most of the tour's gigs with a sprained left wrist that was in a sling when he was not doing the gigs.

Those dates confuse me, because the way they phrase it, it was six consecutive Saturdays.

It's not easy. Things often get lost in a haze of misinformation.

A disaster I would like to see on film. Shame mobile phones and YouTube didn't exist then.

No kidding. Some of these earlier concerts sound like complete gold.

I can narrow this down.

It has 11 O'clock Tick Tock and Touch, so it must be no earlier than April 1980.

It has The Electric Co., so it's likely no earlier than May 1980.

Various pre-Boy songs indicate it's no later than July 1980.

The absence of An Cat Dubh, Into The Heart, and I Will Follow indicate it is earlier than July 1980.

So ... we've got a vicinity. Sooo close.

No kidding. The pre-Boy era is possibly the era that fascinates me the most - so little is known, but what does come out of the mists of time is just classic.

Yeah seriously you should be spending some of this time figuring out a time machine or some shit. Ask Edge, I think he has some prototypes for such a thing.

The guy who commented on 5/31 said the only song he remembers definitely being played was "I Will Follow," so it must be earlier than that.

Huh, I'd overlooked that review. Matthias must've approved it without adding IWF to the set. I'll do that now. That really narrows down the vicinity significantly, but still isn't a perfect help.

It's quite similar to the Garden of Eden, but I have no idea what the hell "Bass + Drums" or "Wo Mans Land" are supposed to be. Or "Saturday Night."
