I have a great feeling for Mr ANTON CORBIJN & his work.

Can we talk about how great he is?
Is pictures are so alive!!

If you're in Italy this w.e. -- there will be a show in Venice with some pics of his!

While preparing this travel -- can you help me know more about Anton?

The book is really great. Browsed through it last weekend, often amazed how great some of the photos are (Clint Eastwood, Jodie Foster, Pavarotti, Bono, Bono, Bono :)).

BTW, his website is at http://www.corbijn.co.uk It's well worth checking out!

C ya!

Marty

I went to a lecture given by Anton. He was talking about his work and had some nice stories about Depeche Mode and Captain Beefheart. He is a very shy person ( believe it or not ) .

The exhibition in Venice was so cool!!
I'm sorry I miss the day it open -- Anton was there.

There were wonderful pics of Keith Richards, Bjork, R.e.m., and of course U2. There was one I never saw before -- U2 in masks.

I'm completely excited! I adore Anton's work!
HAve you got some reference to where can I write to get in touch with him

(You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'n not the only one...)

poi a venezia l'evento avr? avuto un suo fascino magico tutto particolare, no? ;)

in effetti ? stata spettacolare -- io e il mio ragazzo siamo impazziti! Anche se ? stata una sfacchinata. Non ? carino per? escludere gli altri da questa conversazione!

I translate for ya: the event was so cool, in particular thanks to the great location.

My "boy" and me were driven crazy! It was tiring, though.

We left from Milan early in the morning and come back the same day (3 hours by train! so 6 in total)

I'll add it was worth this!

Absolutely great -- even if we could'nt find any book of Anton pics -- yhey just had finished the copies!
They said the exhibition was a success -- and I'm so happy with that!

You guys, what's the pic you like the most of Anton's (also, not U2'2...)

i actually do not know so much of his works, maybe i must get into his "world"...a day or the other ;)

you definetely should!

he's just an incredible artist!

The exhibition showed the pic of Bono smoking, with sombrero and moustache. It was added as an extra feature by Corbijn himself during the preparation of the show

Is there anybody who could post it in this forum?
I'll really like to share it with ya!

You mean this one?

:D

I also really admire Mr. Anton's work. But I have a confession...

I have no earthly idea how to pronounce his last name :reject:

Sometimes it helps being Dutch!

The last part of his last name ('ijn') is maybe pronounced best as in wine. The first part is kinda like 'core', but cut a bit short at the end (hence: 'cor'). The end result would be something like:
Cor - b - ine

Now, start practising! :D

C ya!

Marty (whose real name is Martijn)

I have some doubt, me too...

Anyway, I tend to read it exactly the way it's written

I studied a little German in High School -- dutch is very near to it -- so I think you read it "corben"

Do you have a favourite pic of Anton?
