I thought theirs might last..

ET has confirmed the surprising news that after more than 11 years of marriage, HEATHER LOCKLEAR, 44, and her rocker husband, RICHIE SAMBORA, 46, are calling it quits.

"Heather Locklear has filed for divorce from Richie Sambora," according to her publicist. "This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time."

The "Melrose Place" star and BON JOVI guitarist have one child, 8-year-old AVA ELIZABETH. Locklear was previously married to another rocker, TOMMY LEE.

Just last June on the red carpet at 'The Perfect Man' premiere, Sambora told our KEVIN FRAZIER what made Locklear so perfect for him: "Just look at her, I got the prettiest girl in the place everywhere I go."

For more on the shocking split, don't miss tonight's ET!

Locklear Unplugs Rock 'n' Roll Marriage

In November, Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora were "together." In December, the actress and the Bon Jovi guitarist were "happily married." But now it's February--and they're divorcing.

Locklear, 44, did the filing deed Thursday in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences and asking that the celebrity couple's prenuptial agreement be enforced.

"This is a private matter, and there will be no further comment at this time," Locklear publicist CeCe York said in a statement.

The release had Locklear and Sambora's marriage as lasting 10 years, but it actually passed the 11-year mark last December, around the same time the couple shushed whispers of their imminent demise.

"The real story is that there is no story," Locklear and Sambora said at the time in a statement to the New York Daily News. "The truth is that after 11 years together, we are still happily married. Boring but true."

Earlier, in November, a Locklear rep told E! Online columnist Ted Casablanca that the couple was very much "together." A Casablanca source had insisted the couple was very much apart.

Locklear and Sambora, 47, wed in 1994 in Paris. It was her second marriage; his first. The couple have an eight-year-old daughter, Ava.

In the divorce filing, Locklear requests joint custody, but also actual physical custody, of her and Sambora's child.

In November, Casablanca quoted a Sambora source as saying the rock star was "spending a lot of time in New Jersey." Per the rumor mill, the couple grew apart in 2004 while Locklear worked on the short-lived NBC series LAX, Casablanca reported.

In the Daily News in December, reputed Sambora insiders unloaded on Locklear, saying the former Melrose Place vixen needed "24-hour-a-day [butt]-kissing," rejected her husband's wishes for a second child and annoyed his Bon Jovi bandmates.

"If Richie divorced her," an unnamed source told the newspaper, "nobody would be heartbroken."

By Thursday afternoon, Us Weekly was on filing watch at the downtown L.A. courthouse, blaring in an email that "several sources close to the couple" had confirmed the beginning of the end was nigh.

Locklear previously tried marriage to a rock 'n' roller from 1985 to '92 with Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, 43--an amped-up, Spinal Tap 11 compared to the low-key Sambora.

A TV institution thanks to starring roles on Dynasty, T.J. Hooker, Spin City as well as Melrose Place, Locklear most recently appeared on ABC's Boston Legal in October.

Bon Jovi, the sturdy, hook-handy rock group of "Livin' on a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead or Alive" fame, is currently on tour. The band is scheduled to play Thursday night in Washington, D.C.

I am now convinced that every single relationship will eventually die.
If you are in a relationship, it won't last.
So save yourself from all that time of proposing and getting married.
Everybody should just go on dates, act fake, and have porno-style sex.
But the key is, AND THIS IS VERY IMPORANT:

DO NOT FALL IN LOVE!!!!

The much anticipated wedding of Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow is officially off.

The couple, who released a joint statement through Armstrong’s spokesman to PEOPLE, are calling it quits after two years of dating and an engagement that lasted a little over five months.

"After much thought and consideration we have made a very tough decision to split up. We both have a deep love and respect for each other and we ask that everyone respect our privacy during this very difficult time," the statement said.

Rumors of trouble began surfacing around Christmas, but the couple insisted there was no truth to them and that they were moving forward with wedding plans for this spring.

Crow recently tried on wedding gowns, including a Vera Wang with what she said was “a particularly absurd amount of meringue,” for a photo shoot for Allure magazine and told reporters that she would be marrying her cyclist boyfriend in Austin.

They should make a TV show staring Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Sheryl Crow, Christina Applegate and Heather Locklear.

It could be NBC's answer to Desperate Housewives.

And lets not forget Tori Spelling!

I am surprised about Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora though

Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora were working through a rough patch in their marriage, due mostly to the strife of two busy careers. Then, sources say, a suggestive e-mail sent to Sambora by an acquaintance of the couple became a final straw in Locklear's decision to seek a divorce, PEOPLE reports in its upcoming issue.

Locklear found the e-mail, which contained "provocative pictures" of the female, a close friend of the pair tells PEOPLE. Though the woman had long been "a sore subject," says the source, Locklear never thought she and Sambora had actually been "romantic."

Whatever conclusions Locklear has now drawn from the photos, they were, her friend believes, the deciding factor. "She's devastated," says the friend. "Absolutely devastated."

Sambora, meanwhile, is as upset by the photos as Locklear, according to their friend: "Richie's saying nothing ever happened, that he never asked for the pictures."

Another source close to the Bon Jovi guitar player says the photos are neither the cause of the breakup nor indicative of a liaison between Sambora and the woman. "It's absolutely not true that they had an affair," says the friend.

Many observers believed the bond between Sambora, 46, and Locklear, 44, was strong. "I thought they were the perfect couple," says their longtime friend, music journalist Lonn Friend, who insists Sambora was not your typical rocker. "He'd sown some wild oats in his day" but since hooking up with Locklear, Friend says, he'd become "a family man." The couple have one daughter, Ava, 8.

There may be no engagement, but there are memories. Lance Armstrong closed his weekly satellite radio show on Sunday by playing his ex-fiancee Sheryl Crow's song "Letter To God."

Acknowledging the split announced last week, the seven-time Tour de France winner said on his Sirius Satellite Radio channel "Faction" talk show, "Armstrong Radio," that he was "torn it didn't work out."

"Obviously, this week was a rough week for us, but that doesn't change the fact that Sheryl is an unbelievable lady, one of the smartest, wisest, most gifted people I've ever met and a person that I can honestly say has shown me a love that I never knew," he said. "It's only fair that I say that, and it's only fair that we play one of her songs tonight and not run from the situation."
