The guy in the Bud Light bunker commercial is also the guy eating in the library in the ubiquitous Wendy's "2.99" commercial. I've never eaten in a library.

Reviews are supposed to take 1:30. They don't.

I think everyone in America is rooting for the Saints except WHA, tpsreports and myself.

At the beginning of the season, a sportsbook gave me a free $20 to bet on a Super Bowl winner, so I took the Bears at 15-1. (The Patriots were 7-1, and I think the Colts were 4-1 or 5-1 -- pretty ridiculous odds.)

However, assuming that the Bears win this game, I'm probably hedging $200 or so on the Patriots/Colts.

Hey, Phil, to be fair....in 2003, everyone and their Mother was pulling for the Cubs.....so your city has had their "america's team" moment, and recently.

WHA is pulling for the Bears? I couldn't tell? :)
ok ok ok...no negativity.

Even if we lose this game, I tell you what. We are NOT the worst 13-3 team in NFL History. I've heard this, and at the least, we have disproven this.

And NSW, I do feel bad for the Saints and the people of New Orleans... If the Bears weren't in the playoffs, the Saints would be my team.

It looks like Da Bears are on their way. It'll take a Buffalo-sized miracle for the Saints to win. As I type this, Brees just threw an INT. Ugh.

You're not gonna lose this game. You're going to the SB, Phil. And I just read that Mark Prior is feeling really good. :)

When the season started, I wanted a Bears/Colts SB, I might get my wish.

The Party is over for the Saints. Da Bears are going back to the Big Show for the first time since the famous 1985 Super Bowl Champion team.

My brother just called from the inside of the dome. He's in the corner of the end zone up high over the helmet in the one that says "Indianapolis." I'm so intense my heart won't beat. AAAAHHHH!!!! Come on Colts please!!

Man they had a good run though. they definatly had me worried...

I cannot believe how much the Bears' defense came through in this game. And I mean really, that was this game. Yes, Rex made some huge throws on that drive with the amazing Berrian catch. And he did exactly what he needed to to win. But that D...

But wow Reggie Bush is gonna be something huh? That city of NO will have something special to root for for a long time.

Peyton, Peyton, Peyton. :tsk:

What happened?!

Nothing. this is Peyton as he's played in every big game of his College and NFL career.

I try to defend Peyton, and I'm not even a Colts fan. He turned that franchise, along with some others, into a perrenial contender, and that's a pretty big accomplishment. But, wow, he really does not come up big in big games. Hopefully they'll turn things around and make a game of it, but I'm not holding my breath. Give the Pats some credit, though.

These NFL Network commercials crack me up.

Congrats, WHA. I think that the hub bub for the Saints made sense, but, was never really anti-Bears. Most people seem to live the Bears, too. I am happy it's them, and not the Eagles or Seahawks in the SB.....and, I really thought that with Rex, they'd have no shot.

Again, congrats!!!

ETA - I now see and appreciate your "ahem".

:)

While I don't wish a natural disaster on any city I just don't see how a football team could "bring a city back" as the media suggested. The amount of coverage was over the top and the fact that almost no one outside of Chicago even game the Bears a chance was insulting. I'm happy that the Bears kicked the Saint's ass. Does that make me a classless fan? I'm sure some think so.

I can tell you this though; there was just a little bit of classless-ness going on at our table after the game was over. ;) Hey, we felt entitled after all the Saints coverage that's been shoved down our throats.

I don't think it makes you classless, and I agree that a football team cannot bring a city back. But, their winning can bring them joy, just like it can to you and any other fan....and maybe your average Saints fan needs that joy a little more than I do right now. The Yankee run in 2001 gave people a distraction after 9/11 in NYC, but when the season ends, you are stuck with the realities of your plight.

Still, I see where you're coming from. I hope you're able to enjoy the win for what it is, though...you're going to the SB, that is what matters!!!!

The Steelers last year were underdogs vs. the Colts and Broncos, and most of the media seemed to write them off, and it upset me, but getting to and winning the SB was what mattered most.

All of a sudden the Colts and Pats are tied.
