Sad, but two very different people.
Sadly, their careers seem more important than their marriage.
Diverging music careers have forced Natalie Imbruglia and Silverchair's Daniel Johns to divorce.
The two Australian favourites have announced an end to their marriage after four years.
They began dating in 1999 and married on New Year's Eve in 2003.
But successful careers have kept the two working on opposite sides of the world.
For the past few years, Imbruglia has spent much of her time in Europe while Johns has been touring Australia and the United States.
"This mutual decision has not been taken lightly or quickly," the pair said in a joint statement.
"However, our career demands and our lives in different parts of the world have brought us to the point where unfortunately this difficult decision was necessary for both of us.
"We have simply grown apart through not being able to spend enough time together."
Imbruglia and Johns said they had issued the statement to eliminate "speculation" and asked they be left alone regarding "this very private matter".
They said they would not be making any future statements about their divorce.
