I think it's a kind of a joke. Maybe Reebok saw Nike signing all these kids out of highschool, and decided to do this for ironic effect.

it is a joke, you're right... but chizip is also right... the kid is now lost all potential college eligability. even if this kid becomes a decent soccer player, not good enough to be professional, but good enough for say a d2 or d3 team, he can't play, because he's recieved money from a corporate sponsor based on "athletic ability." sad but true.
