Brooke and David A. belong on Sesame Street. It's really just gotten way too hokey.

Well, that was interesting.

The only person with two good performances was David Cook. I've done such a turnaround on this guy it's ridiculous -- I hated him circa Hollywood week, and now I think he's just about the best contestant the show's ever had (things started turning around for me at "Little Sparrow," and "Always Be My Baby" totally won me over. I completely misjudged the guy.) His second song was lovely.

Archuleta -- God, this poor kid. He's such a product of the Star Search generation and a horrible stage parent. Of course he picked the two most karaoke Neil Diamond songs in existence to sing. Sigh. Listening tonight, I actually think his vocal range is fairly limited. He sings runs well, but I can't ever remember him rocking a lower register or singing an insanely high note. Can anyone who knows music better than I help me out here? I think Cook and Syesha both have the widest vocal ranges of the bunch, and I haven't heard that from Archu-D2 yet. He's not going anywhere, even if he was the second-worst tonight.

Jason - Oh boy. Um... he has pretty eyelashes? I dunno what to say about this guy anymore, honestly. I thought he was great during Mariah week, but his performances have gotten so same-y for me. Push your vocals a little, dude!

Brooke - Her second song was quite good. The first? Let's not go there.

Syesha - Yet again, really strong vocally. She rocked that shit out last week, but the problem with her is that I have no clue what kind of album she'd put out. With the rest of the contestants I have a good idea (except for maybe Archie) of the type album they'd make, but her? I've no idea what kind of music she likes. I figure that's why she's always near the bottom, despite being really proficient vocally. She'd be top 2 material in the first three seasons of this show, but nowadays? I'm just bored with her.

Best of the night: David Cook.

Should be in trouble, except the teenyboppers think they're dreamy: Castro, Archuleta.

Going home: Syesha, with Brooke rounding out the bottom 2.

Should go home: Randy Jackson, for being a moron.

at 1st this season I enjoyed them being able to play an instrument...but now I am totally tired of it....it is refreshing to see them finally move around the stage a bit, like Syesha does

I loved Simon's critique after their first songs, just a rapid-fire, down-the-line list of criticisms.

It made me think he was secretly seething inside, saying "I hate you all, most of you aren't worthy to be here, now FUCK OFF, ALL OF YOU."

I thought everyone was exceedingly boring tonight, and I HATED Archie's version of America. I'm sick of looking at his face.

(don't mind me - I'm cranky tonight.)

Man, that sucked.

Imagine having to sing a song that was already given a bad review. Really, Paula?

I suspect she was just giving her notes from the dress rehearsal, but yeah. Granted, I expect that kind of idiocy from Paula, and she was actually right. Heh. Go figure.

Can we just crown David Cook the winner already and spare him the indignity of singing "This is My Now When I Want to Be Inside Your Heaven In A Moment Like This" or whatever shit they're going to foist upon him?

Ok I don't get it. I think Jason totally sucks! Syesha looked so cute and I just think she has an amazing voice. Much better than Jason's... and Brooke doesn't impress me either. One of them two need to GO.

Based on tonight, and actually the last couple of weeks, I think it's time for Brooke or Jason to go. Boring, boring boring. And "I'm A Believer" was a trainwreck. And I still don't like ArchuD2. His voice is fine, but I don't see him as an 'American Idol'. I thought David C. was the best tonight, and should win it. I agree with Allanah, just call it now and let's get it over with. I hate that they do the winning song by this stoopid competition

I liked the second performances for Jason and Brooke better than the first. I still think David A. is boring, and it is mindboggling that so many people (judges included) adore him. Syesha was decent enough, I really think she would do well on Broadway. David C. was my favorite of the night.

Wow I had no desire to watch, I DVR'd...then I come read this and I have even less desire to watch it. Without Carly it just all seems sort of pointless

It's okay... my infatuation of her pouty face has waned slightly.
