Poor Phil. Simon was like "it was the whole hat and the eyes..." and Randy goes "Eyes??? You want him to change his eyes..?" or something like that. I was cracking up!

is it me, or did Chris Sligh just subtly call the really, really heterosexual Ryan Seacrest out on his gay baiting with Simon with the whole, "come on man, give me a hug."

i think i like him. he's smug, but on the good side of smug.

that said, they all kind of sucked tonight.

Nope, not just you.

That was kind of awesome, wasn't it?

to tonight's performers

Only performance I liked was Chris Sligh and he is the only one that should be there. I can't stand that guy who did the 311 song, the bald guy who did LeeAnn's song was awful, Sanjay and Sundance's Jermey was terrible. I felt it was a cover that I would have heard in a college bar. I agreed with Simon.

If any one of the male performers win American Idol this season, I will be suprised.

I like Phil. But is it me or does he kind of have a Gollum thing going on?

All in all, I'm bored this year. There is a lack of star potential with this group. Central casting gone bad or is this the muck of what's left of undiscovered American talent after six seasons?

A few of the girls are good but realistically could any of them sell records or attract a live audience? Melinda and Lakisha are sweethearts and have decent voices but I'm not excited about either.

Outside of Blake and Chris, the men are completely forgettable. Though I did love Sundance Head and his brilliant emotional sobbing fit last Thursday night.

Blake has the best overall commercial potential.

Tonights episode is a snoozer. None of the guys impressed me. Out of the whole night, I think Blake has my vote.

I thought Sundance's "Jeremy" was awful, and I have now completely written him off. Last week was good karaoke, this week was mediocre, dime-a-dozen karaoke.

I didn't think much of Brandon one way or the other until he said he was a classically trained pianist. Now I'm all, "pianists unite!"

I thought Chris Sligh was just fine. I didn't like the song, but he sounded good.

Blake was my favorite. It's been ages since I heard that song.

I still like Blake! Chris is a great singer, but his personality is starting to grate me.

he's so irritating.

we all known Anderson Cooper is gay, and he doesn't explicitly deny it, and anyone who lives in New York knows he has a beautiful boyfriend named Julio. it's just not an issue with him, he doesn't address it.

Seacrest, on the other hand, who's every bit the "well known homosexual" that Cooper is, goes out of his way to appear straight -- remember his whole, "ah, the things we've all done to that song," after someone sang "sexual healing," and i got the heebie-jeebies -- and his pounding man-hug to Chris and his supertransparent grandchild-like kiss with Teri Hatcher .... ugh, he's so irritating like that.

still, he's good at what he does.

he's just the biggest freaking poser in the world.

but, hey, it's American Idol.

I liked Blake, and then I liked that House came on after AI.

It wasn't that the others were bad (with the exception of Sanjaya--pretty boy needs to go home. He seems like a sweet kid, but he's so not ready for a professional singing career), they just weren't memorable. I kept wanting to go do other things instead of watching.
