Yes, big shoes. That's what I meant.

Duh...I had no idea that this thread existed. Thanks to Lila64 here, I have found it.

Anyway, FYI, mine and my hubby's favorite is Taylor. He makes us smile. And that dance of his What a hoot!!!

We were never Idol watchers until this year. In the past we would only watch the first two weeks to see the stupid ones, but after that we would quit watching. But this year it seems different. There are so many good ones. But after we saw Taylor, we really want to see how far he can go.

So hate to admit it...we're hooked.

well... I was surprised Ayla was out over Melissa - tough call there. Must have been song selection last night.

And Kevin over Gideon? when he sang 'Vincent' or whatever song that was... I just think he doesn't fit the competition, although he can sing. Oh well... guess we'll have to see what happens with the top 12 next week

the public voting on this ia as bad as the public voting on Dancing with Stars

this is the first season I started watching
and I think I am done

I may look in from time to time

they sent two of the better singers and kept some of the worse

Ace sings like kevin looks

close your eyes and listen?
would you buy that?

then turn down the voluum and watch
that is all your are buying
buy a poster
my neice might like one for her bedroom wall

Public voting?? What makes you think that's for real? The record company isn't going to let a whole country of American idiots decide what's best for them. It's a whole charade, 4 months to choose the winner they already decided within the first and second audition.

Please, don't even bother "voting" for anyone on this show.

yes he did, then he claimed he was just joking on his affinity for younger women

OK Soul Patrol makes more sense, and I agree it's his haircut not color. The color is cool. I like his voice but he doesn't have a chance in hell, it will be Ace I think.

As for Ayla her dad is a politician and her mom is a famous reporter around here, supposedly there was a big internet site voting/campaign for her(not by them, by others). It didn't work obviously. The poor girl, I felt so sorry for her having to sing those lyrics after being voted off. Seemed quite cruel to me. She will do fine, she will go to college and probably still have a little singing career on the side. Maybe some people just don't want to vote for a "golden girl" type-there is so much of that stuff that has nothing to do with singing ability.

This thread has turned out to be way more interesting than the show! I love reading your posts! It was probably very close between Ayla & Melissa (she'll have to go soon too). Don't disagree with Kinnik and Will leaving. However---KEVIN is in the top 12?! I just can't even imagine very young girls or old women voting for him. WHO is voting for him?

Kevin needs a different haircut, contacts, a more current wardrobe, and a coach to help his lose his lisp. From a marketing standpoint, I have no idea how he is still in the competition.

I liked Gedeon a whole lot better than Kevin.

After being suspicious of the voting in years past, I honestly don't think the votes are manipulated or lied about in any way.

However, I think the producers know who they'd like to see win and do their darndest to push those people on the audience - hence all the screen time and tongue bathing for certain contestants (coughPicklerandAcecough).

I like it when it backfires, though. So I'm hoping both Ace and Kellie get booted before the final 5.

As for Ayla getting booted over Melissa, I have a theory that sometimes when one of the judges (coughSimoncough) is overly harsh on a contestant, like he was to Melissa, that contestant's fans might say, "Oh yeah? F that - I'm voting for her 500 more times now!"

But hey - you've gotta watch the show with a dose of cynicism thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis big.
