No, only the CONSUMER matters, not the sales people who can't spend time with their families.

I work for a "unique grocery store" and so many customers asked what our Thanksgiving Day hours were, and many of them were disappointed to hear we're not open. Sorry, your 3 Buck Chuck and your frozen entrees are not as important as our families.

This is the first Black Friday since 2000 that I have not worked. My mom and I are going wedding dress shopping. Hopefully that's not a popular item to shop for on Black Friday.

I'm with you Sicy!

I don't mind people normally.....but please keep your grabby-ass, pushover, rude self at least 20 feet away from me! I feel like a deer in the headlights otherwise!

(I only feel comfortable when the store is 95% empty!)

If I didn't work, I wouldn't go near a shopping place of any sort.

I'm definitely there. I love crowds of impatient people. I just want to take in the whole scene, really study the space. Count me in.

I'm done with my shopping already. online shopping is my friend I don't really like going to the mall and I definitely can't stand crowds. I had coupons and found good deals online in the past couple of weeks so I took advantage of that and the convenience of not having to deal with crazy people. I went shopping after Thanksgiving maybe 5 years ago and I wouldn't do it again. I vaguely remember the chaos at Walmart....pushing shoving, cars parked at angles up on snowbanks no thanks. and I've also worked the day after, a long time ago when I worked at Sears. I thought being at work at 5 was bad. I can't imagine those poor Kohl's employees!

That would be me. It is insane. There are a lot of our employees that have to be in at 2am! I'll be going in at 6am and I'll be lucky to get a parking spot.

BIG SALES SUCK
Same here - in Canada, our big sales occur the day after Xmas, Boxing Day - which has turned into Boxing week over the years and really, extends until mid-January!

My friend and I are planning a trip to Plattsburgh (NY) in the coming weeks to take advantage of the strong Cdn dollar - will the sales still be on or is it a one-day thing?
