Do tell me.

Albums I have to listen to in entirety:

Honestly most everything. I've become an "album" boy. I dont like random songs. But the one album I HAVE to listen to in its entirety is:

The Clash - "London Calling"

Songs I HAVE to hear together:

Led Zeppelin: Heartbreaker followed by Living Loving Maid(She's Just a Woman)

I love those 2 songs together.

Songs Together:

We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions: Queen.

Entire Albums:

The Music: The Music.

london calling, of course.

ATYCLB

barenaked ladies: the old apartment, i live with it everyday, and this is where it ends...for me they seem to go together

you can't listen to sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band without listening to a little help...right after. even the radio stations know this...

sex pistols--nevermind the bollocks

i odn't know, i'm a big fan of putting on an album and listening to it cover to cover in general

Songs that must be heard together: I get a huge kick of playing Bad and Streets after each other. One emotional high after another.

I also sometimes play David Gray's 'The Other Side' after Massive Attack's 'Protection'. The crossfading on winamp is such that the rain effects after the first song give way to the piano, lovely stuff.

Will think of more.

Albums: need to think of this one

Album to be played from beginning to end in its entirety:

NIN-The Downward Spiral

Quite a story there, I tell ya.

Songs:

Pink Floyd - Brain Damage/Eclipse

Bad/Streets - especially live

Albums:

Tommy - The Who

Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

Quadrophenia - The Who

(What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis

Sgt. Pepper - The Beatles

...almost anything by U2 (of course).

you can't listen to the second half of that abbey road without listening to it in it's entirety... it just doesn't make sense...

You Never Give Me Your Money / Sun King / Mean Mr. Mustard / Polythene Pam / She Came in Through the Bathroom Window / Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End

what a brilliant idea george martin had... taking all these unfinished lennon / mccartney songs, not a single one of which really stands out on it's own, and morphing them all into a single suite... absolute brilliance. still the greatest stretch of music on any album i've ever heard.

with regards to songs..probably All Apologies/Where Did You Sleep Last Night from Nirvana-Unplugged...Song For My Sugar Spun Sister never sounds quite right without Elizabeth My Dear winding down on Stone Roses..its hard to imagine finishing How To Disappear Completely without Treefingers following..Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah without So Real beforehand

Music For The Masses: Depeche Mode

Not really, but it just flows soooo nicely when you do.:yes:

I would be denying a great album if I didn't mention:

Who's Next
:yes:... even the original album, although short, is a great composition to listen to... Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again... where can you go wrong?

:up:... disturbing, but like a Radiohead album... in that you have to listen to the whole thing to appreciate it's intricacies...

Whenever I make a mixed CD, I always want to include something from my favorite record Tori Amos' Boys For Pele but I am always unable to pick a song because the record must be heard from beginning-to-end to make any sense and pulling one song out just never works for me. There are a couple that work on their own, but somehow I am never satisfied unless I hear it all the way through.

besides *any* U2 album, natch, and London Calling, some of my "listen all the way thru" faves:

the first Big Audio Dyanamite album;
Led Zep IV;
any album by Morphine, esp. 'Like Swimming';
Waterbone - Tibet;
Aria I
Michael Hutchence' posthumous solo album
Pink Martini - Sympathique
Loreena McKennit - Book of Secrets
anything by Beck!

and SO many more.... :love:music:heart:

while i don't feel the need to listen to unforgettable fire in its entirety, two songs that must be played together:

- unforgettable fire
- promenade

...then you might as well play 4th of july. :D
