Hmm.

U2 - The Unforgettable Fire
U2 - Pop
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut
Radiohead - Kid A
Radiohead - OK Computer
Echo And The Bunnymen - Crocodiles

If you're wondering why Achtung Baby isn't up here, well here's the thing - while AB is my favourite album of all time, I do get tired of it every now and then. If I'm listening to my music on random, I'll often hit skip if I get any Achtung song other than Zoo Station, Love Is Blindness, and Acrobat.

Right now for me it's BRMC's latest album Howl.
I am about 7 years late, but I just "discovered" In the Aeroplane over the Sea and it's been on heavy rotation.

Achtung Baby for sure. I'm always coming back to it after I put it on the shelf for a while.

Kid A has been locked in my mp3 player for over a month...amazingly transportive. If I'm ever abducted by aliens, I'm insisting they play this as background music.

ATYCLB. I find it to be very cathartic when I'm in a contemplative state of mind, like when a family member is sick, or I'm thinking about my future, etc. It was also released when my grandfather had a stroke, so maybe I subconciously connect the music to that moment where hearing new U2 music helped a lot.

POP. I think it's Bono's most personal effort, lyrically. It's stark, honest, and questioning. Plus, it has Discotheque!! Those Boomchas will hold me hostage forever..

HTDAAB. It's always in heavy rotation. I find it's the perfect soundtrack to what's going on right now in the world. The lyrics are just as great as the music, and it's got a kind of political bent that hasn't been in a U2 album for a long time.

I don't know anything about them...I feel like I should though. Song recommendations to get me started?

oh well, it's hard, I like all, but maybe: "All is Violent, All is Bright", "Forever Lost, "Fire Flies and Empty Skies", "Suicide by Star", "Remembrance Day" (possibly my favorite), "The End of the Beginning", "Ascend to Oblivion", "Twilight", etc
