Let's face it; 2006 was a pretty weak year in music. 2007 can hardly be worse. I'm personally looking forward to new releases from:

Radiohead

Wilco

Arcade Fire

(U2?)

What music stuff are you guys looking forward to?

Peter Gabriel (God willing)

Doves (I hope!)

Garbage Greatest Hits

Sinead O'Connor

Bjork (I hope)

PJ Harvey

Natalie Merchant (I pray)

New Order (but I doubt it)

Interpol will be good

for the most part, I see no conflict here. :shifty:

I do think there were some really good releases this year, but that's not the point. anyway I don't buy enough music to feel qualified to say it was a good or bad year in music. but yeah

QFT.

This year in music was okay. A few really good albums, but overall nothing too spectacular.

Next year, though...

Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire
Modest Mouse
Interpol
Arcade Fire
U2?
Arcade Fire
Wolf Parade?
New Pornographers
Arcade Fire
Blur
The Postal Service
Radiohead
Arcade Fire
Smashing Pumpkins

Hell, I think even Arcade Fire are supposed to come out with something new.

But yes, we've got quite a year ahead of us.

Sorry about that. I made a mistake. I blame dyslexia.

Anyway, taste aside, 2007 owns 2006 in every way possible.

Plus it has...

Simpsons AND Family Guy movies.

NEW THIRD EYE BLIND IN 2007.:love::drool:

The Shins, Bloc Party, The Arcade Fire... 3 albums that will rock in 2007

with a little of luck, GY!BE will back, at least to release 'Albanian' and 'Gamelan', two amazing tracks never recorded

That new Bloc Party song underwhelmed me. I'm still interested to see where the album will wind up, quality-wise; I hope it's listenable, though, and more consistent/less oft-mediocre than Silent Alarm. Sorry for going O-T, but I couldn't resist. 2007 should be dece, but I don't yet have much of a reason to expect more from it than I got from 2006.

new shins - very very good
bloc party - I'm realy disapointed...for me it's nowhere near Silent Alarm, I find it bad....

arcade fire
I hope that Sufjan will release something new...

but some good albums from 2006 were:

Damien Rice - 9
Hold Steady - Boys and Girls of America
Yo La Tengo
Lambchop
My Mornign Jacket - okonokos

Gnarls Barkley
Eagles Of Death Metal
Agoria
Islands
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
TV on the radio
Neko Case
Cat Power
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (is it 2006?)
Belle and Sebastian
etc...

it was not spectacular year, but it certainly can be worse....

still - only for Interpol and Arcade Fire (and probably Clap Your Heands Say Yeah) I know that I'll LOVE 2007

:shifty:

Are you even sure that a new third eye blind is coming. Their greatest hits was a disappointment since it was going to have videos and b sides, then just the videos then just 2 ssemi new songs that were already available on other releases.

Plus anyone who thinks a new album by U2 will be completely ready by this time next year is giving them too much credit. Just go back 4 years to when the best of 1990-2000 was released. It was 2 years after that when HTDAAB was released. I think it will November 2008. I am not trying to burst any bubbles but just being realistic. Plus it is easier to shoot for later and the be pleasantly surprised if it does come early.

Stereophonics will also release an album in 2007!

I'm looking forward to Radiohead's new album and I hope Oasis can make a 2007 release, otherwise a b-side album again?!

U2

The Good, the Bad, and the Queen (Damon Albarn )

Spoon
Modest Mouse

Aerosmith is still around?

What an awful assessment. Who needs to get some taste here? :tsk:

All of the above albums were very good to great (except I never heard Gilmour's). My Chemical Romance also released a phenomenal cd. 2006 was a pretty good year.
