Alanis...like a breath of fresh air ahhh :)

Has anyone picked up Alanis's new album yet? *if it has been released* I find her music soo refreshing and inspiring and her videos are always fun to watch over and over again! I hope her album does beyond well.

haha. Alanis. Errrm, if the album is anything like the single they're playing on the radio, then nope...don't plan to touch it.

I kinda liked her before, but then I discovered how mediocre she really is.

Heeeeeey c'mon people cut her some slack! Smell the fresh spring flowers a lil, she is a break from the "other" murky music on the radio... maybe fast forwarding to a few years later would help y'all out, eh? :P

I like Hands Clean -

but I'm not sure about an album that talks about someone getting their ass licked is lyrically what I would enjoy. I know that's just one song, but..

C'mon people, anyone who's gone through a painful breakup can appreciate her music. I can especially relate to the line in her new song: "'Cause you're such a pretty thing when you're done up properly. I might wanna marry you one day if you watch that weight and you keep a firm body." It reminds me of someone I know..... (*she says as she munches on a slim fast meal bar*)

Umm, I've gone through a painful breakup and still don't appreciate her. Her propensity to whine and bitch and be generally annoying is highly preventative to enjoying her "music."

Now if you want a real female artist, check out PJ Harvey.

And the fact that her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to many of us.

I took my own advice and just threw "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea" in the player. Now there's an amazing album. Complete. Stylistically diverse. Innovative. And hey, any artist that Thom Yorke likes well enough to lend his vocals on their album must be pretty alright, at least in my book.

*pouts* Damn just when I think I've got a great artist in mind to post about. *walks away slowly*

PJ Harvey rawks!! Yes I was listening to her new cd yesterday and I swear its such a pick me up- I just got into her music so I find her quite interesting.

Helloangel that song you mentioned about licking butt is kinda... out there but somehow I'm not surprised hearing stuff like that from Alanis, she's weird like that.

nah, Princess...sorry to hijack your thread. I'm glad you have found another artist you like...I'm just really unable to enjoy Alanis one bit. But hey, it's a free country.

I AM glad that you dig PJ Harvey, tho. She's something else, dontcha think??? I will forever be grateful to U2 for having her open for them on the first leg and introducing me to her music.
