Great record, although I must admit that it's nowhere near the mountainous peak of 2005's near-perfect In Case We Die..... "Not a classic" doesn't mean "not a good record," though, and this is definitely a good record. I'm happy not to be disappointed and to have had a great deal of fun hearing a kick-ass batch of new songs. Nary a weak one in the bunch, by my initial reckoning!

"Underwater" and "Heart It Races" are both right up there and fighting it out with songs like "All My Friends" (LCD Soundsystem), "The Spirit of Giving" and pretty much every other song on Challengers (by The New Pornographers, and a record which you should visit www.buyeartlygetnow.com to pre-order and keep the industry alive by supporting forward-thinking artists who're still willing to make albums EVENTS, rather than inconveniences), "Apartment Story" (The National), "Snake Mistakes" (Dan Deacon), and, of course, Ike Reilly and The Assassination's jaw-dropping "Broken Parakeet Blues" for my "Song of the Year" honor. It's been a good, if highly overrated by most critics, year, so far, now that I look at it...

Anyway, listen to Architecture in Helsinki or I'll kick you in the nuts. ...And if you're without nuts, then I'll just hate you. I'll hate you real good.

Oh, and, uh...yeah. I realize that Places Like This hasn't yet been released and that I've therefore quite obviously dl'd it ahead of schedule and seemingly become a hypocrite. I will be buying it, though! Follow my example!

In Case We Die was excellent...shall check this out definitely.
