Ahhh yes... It's March Madness Time.

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Yeah not really. I hate the Tar Heels they are the Dallas of NCAA basketball  I wouldn't tell who I really liked or you'd just diss them. But it doesn't matter since they're not going to make the tournament anyway :tsk:

U2Kitten likes North Carolina, Duke, Connecticut, Villanova, Gonzaga, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan St, Illinois, Kentucky and Louisville.

Gonzaga looks like they're ripe for the picking in the 1st or 2nd round of the ncaas. They really struggled in the conference tourny.

so we've got three more teams dancing after last night...

Iona... complete with jersey pop...

oh gonzaga... how you torment me- they have who's probably the best player in the country, yet they couldn't guard a statue. how many teams in this tournament could you make an honest argument that they could either get to the final four or get bounced in the second round? gonzaga... duke... uconn... texas... everyone.

gonna be a wacky march... perhaps, even mad? :reject:

all depends on the bracket. i don't either... i'm still picking duke to win it all... but frankly nothing would surprise me at this point.

That's the whole point.

But seriously, since the high school to NBA thing, when has there really been a dominant team in college basketball?

Temple rips sixth-ranked George Washington. John Chaney has some tricks up his old sleeve. Atlantic-10 to get two bids.

Cuse gets a bid now and A-10 gets two - that takes away 2 bubble spots. I'm feeling that overrated Missouri Valley conf. is gonna get 3 bids, not the 5 some ites are talking about. Some bubble teams just got bounced....sucks for those smaller schools.

the fact that GW is ranked 6th in the nation is a joke. their strength of schedule was in the 200s... 200s!!!

their's only like 230 D1 teams, and GW's strength of schedule was ranked somewhere in the 220s. they might as well be playing high school teams at that point.

the big 10 tournament could be very interesting

Iowa was 17-0 at home, then sub-par everywhere else, so expect them to lose soon in the neutral stadium

Ohio State had a great strategy, and surprised everyone (except me) and won the big 10. After they beat Illinois last year, I expected them to be good, but they were nothing special away from home, so they don't have a decided advantage

Michigan state is too unpredictable to talk about

Illinois has showed flashed of brilliance, but I think they ride on Dee Brown to have a good offensive night

My pick is for Ohio State to beat Illinois in the final (I root heavily for Illinois, so I don't have any bias in that pick)

ok exact numbers on GW's strength of schedule...

they're ranked 241st out of 334.

the basketball powerhouses with similar strength of schedules as GW include san diego, denver, harvard, cornell, st. bonaventure, northern arizona, quinnipiac, sacred heart, southern & mcneese state.

in comparison, here's the strength of schedule rankings for the entire AP top 10
1. UConn - #51
2. Villanova - #2
3. Duke - #1
4. Gonzaga - #100
5. Memphis - #4
6. GW - #241
7. Ohio State - #5
8. Texas - #7
9. Illinois - #8
10. UNC - #9
