Is google less conspicuous than msn? I had msn at a job many moons ago and I was always so paranoid about it that everytime I'd get up from my desk I would sign out.

yeah, at least the way i use it, i just load my gmail inbox and then the chat stuff appears on the left side.

i read an article about this recently, i think invites are at gmail.com, and free to anyone is googlemail.com - what the difference is, aside from a slightly different domain, i don't know.

Actually, there's probably still some alcohol in my system too, but not much. I had a solitary glass of sauvignon blanc/semillion earlier.

I swear, that wine just doesn't have enough substance. I like sweeter wines, I drink port for goodness' sake, but it just tastes like vaguely alcoholic grape juice rather than a good wine. Though it did go well with camembert cheese on crackers when I was getting smashed during the rugby last week.
