Heh, I'm a History major who specialises in New Zealand ... at a university not in New Zealand. So I'm kind of stuffed and just have to take what sounds interesting. Occasionally I get lucky and a course suits a custom topic that deals with New Zealand. For example, my other major is PolSci so I'm writing about the Rainbow Warrior bombing for my Terrorism course.

I did some Latin American stuff in The Struggle For Universal Human Rights. My first essay in that subject was about women's suffrage in New Zealand and was what actually awakened my interest in Kiwi history, so anything after that was going to be a letdown.

Hi Jen, please send some food my sleep-deprived way so that I don't have to attempt cooking.

I had so much fun the first few semesters in US history (something I've always done well in) and European History courses, this semester was such a let down because of this class.

I can't wait til next semester, European Pop Culture

My other major is film, but I'm kinda nervous by the fact that the most fun I've had in the major so far has been my Film History class. I think that will change though next semester when I finally get to take a few video courses

Because it's so hard to find Kiwi history courses outside New Zealand, I've just taken all kinds of stuff, just whatever's sounded most interesting. Eastern European and Middle Eastern history tends to be my non-Kiwi field.

I originally went into uni doing PolSci as my primary focus, and History just because it interests me. But then I found all my PolSci essays being historically based, so fuck it, I'll go for History as a proper career. PolSci has proved dead boring anyway.

For about a week I considered going to law school....Until I took a poli sci course. That did NOT end well, no matter how much I love history

I just read something so....very wrong that the US government did to Chile in the 70s that I honestly need to go take a walk about the library. Maybe it's because I'm so tired, but I'm really really upset nwo.
