Cremation perhaps?
I like how the terrible production makes it almost impossible to understand what is being sung during the "climax". Now that's smart.

Anyway, I think the most hilarious part of the song is not the falsetto, but the solo. Dang, that's horrible. This one time, my mom was defending the song's supposed "greatness" and I played the solo on one string in response. Her reaction was something akin to .

Yes, elevated, grandma likes Fix You.

I like how Martin sings the last few lines of the song. It's such a stark contrast to how god-awful he sounds through the rest of the song.

I WILL TRIE TO FIXX YOU!

oh grandma

I'm not sure if I like the Talk demo version more than the album version... It seems odd somehow, I guess because I'm used to the album version...

I woke up this morning with A Message stuck in my head, which is bizarre because I probably haven't heard it in 5 months.

To be fair, I don't hate that one as much as The Hardest Part, but it's still depressing.

"My song is love... "

The Hardest Part might be their worst song ever. At least Fix You is hilarious.

And the video is one of the worst videos of all-time.

Oh my God, that was a single?

Oh well, at least it went to #8 in Latvia.

I like A Message...

The Hardest Part was meh, sounded like a tribute to REM or something...

I've said it before, but it bears repeating. The only songs I like/can stand on X&Y are:

Square One
What If
White Shadows
Talk
Speed Of Sound
'Til Kingdom Come

I would have to say I like most of the album, the only songs I am indifferent to (not hate mind you) are:

Fix You
X&Y
Hardest Part

switch What If with Twisted Logic and that's my list too.

Twisted Logic has really grown on me recently.

No, no, no. Swallowed In The Sea is even worse.

I forgot to mention the title track, which is borderline for me. It has some great moments, and some nails-on-the-chalkboard moments. Ultimately, it's just formless and it kind of floats there.
