Listening to Black Celebration and seeing just how dark the album is. Some of the lyrics esp. on A Question Of Time and Stripped are a little :eyebrow:

Okay, so there's this 15 year old girl (?) that he wants to protect from 'them'.

I've got to get to you first
Before they do
It's just a question of time
Before they lay their hands on you
And make you just like the rest

And then later on in the song he goes...

Sometimes I don't blame them
For wanting you
You look good
And they need something to do
Until I look at you
And then I condemn them
I know my kind
What goes on in our minds

'My' kind? :eyebrow: Are you talking about men in general, Dave?

Then, there's this verse...

I can see them now Hanging around
To mess you up
To strip you down
And have their fun
With my little one

... and in the next song he goes

Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone

Creepy.

Not too thrilled about these lyrics. But musically, great songs nonetheless!

I'd guess he's talking about men in general also. Never really paid much attention to either songs' lyrics apparently, as I've never noticed that. Regardless, both good tunes.

stripped is my favourite dm song ever.

Metropolis
Has nothing on this
Youre breathing in fumes
I taste when we kiss

Take my hand
Come back to the land
Where everythings ours
For a few hours

A question of time read good but Metropolis
sounds as cheesy as a teletubies christmas

Gore actually wrote all the songs back then. He wrote about this young girl a lot. Many believe it's the same girl in Little 15 and also the 16 year old in Blasphemous Rumours.

I think Question of Time is just about saving a girl from "the corrupted", it's an innocence vs experienced song.

I don't think Stripped has anything to do with the previous song. It's just a song about wanting someone to open up, expose their true self.
