I was just thinking about this. I can't think of a band less likely to put out something like this:

Radiohead: The Singles 93>03

1.Creep
2.Anyone Can Play Guitar
3.Pop Is Dead
4.Stop Whispering
5.The Bends
6.My Iron Lung
7.Street Spirit(Fade Out)
8.Just
9.Fake Plastic Trees
10.High And Dry
11.Paranoid Android
12.Karma Police
13.No Surprises
14.Climbing Up The Walls
15.Pyramid Song
16.I Might Be Wrong
17.Knives Out
18.There There
19.Go To Sleep
20.2+2=5

they're not signed.

they can do whatever they want.

whether it's this, or not.

doesn't seem likely, though.

not necessarily.

people think bands have no say in this. bullshit.

new bands locked into long term deals, then yes.

but radiohead don't have to sign anything they don't want to at this point, and i really don't think they'd go for something like this.

they're not a singles band anyway.

i wouldn't morally disagree with them releasing 1 best of type album in the future, despite what others might think, but it just doesn't make sense for a band like radiohead to do that.

though pink floyd did, and it turned out alright i guess?

I agree...anyway Thom has always said might release a Best of
once the band is over and only then..

right...

it doesn't make a lot of sense to do it before then, yet loads of bands do it anyway.

i guess i just don't get it.

there's a best of/hits/singles/etc collection for damn near everybody. it might not be in their lifetime, but my money's on something of the sort in 15-20 years. if there isn't, it's cause everybody's downloading.

I wouldn't put it past them to do a best of after they're done, but have it only be songs that aren't as popular. If they do it, it'll probably be done in a way that's not presented like other best ofs.

i have a promo disc that was put out by emi just before kid a was released. it was kind of a greatest hits thing with songs from pablo honey, the bends and ok computer.

i wouldn't put it past emi to do something like that and make money off it.

They actually signed a new deal a few months ago. I think they're bound to release a greatest hits of some kind. Every
band of their calibre does, at some point.

I'm pretty sure they haven't signed yet....

the link you posted is for some kind of publishing deal

Edit...........

Yea I was right this is just a publishing deal

Warner/Chappell are not labels, they are just publishers

You might be right. It's a little confusing, however. Especially when you consider that the publishing thing is an arm of the huge Warner music label. Doubly confusing if you then read the story I linked, which seems to point away from the band doing anything independently.

I think I'll just stick to the music.
