9's gotta be from either A Night at the Opera or Duck Soup - I don't know because those are the only two Marx films I'm familiar with.

10's gotta be from a good Willis flick, but definitely not a Die Hard movie, I'd remember that line. It's probably The Last Boy Scout or something.

I can't take credit for 4 or 13. I didn't guess them.

Damn, I knew #5 on someone's list was The Prestige, but I wasn't around to guess

The Third Revelation:
2. My first day here, he beat me because I threw out the bones from dinner. He came down at midnight and asked for them. And I asked him, I don't know how, I could never ask him now, I said, "Why are you beating me?" He said, "The reason I beat you now is because you ask why I beat you."
Embeth Davidtz in Schindler's List (1993)

10. The soul of man has been given wings and at last he is beginning to fly. He is flying into the rainbow! Into the light of hope, into the future! The glorious future, that belongs to you, to me and to all of us. Look up, Hannah. Look up!
Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator (1940)

14. Well, you can't know. Not until you look at a dumpster. But when you climb into that thing for the first time and you pull those newspapers over you, that's when you know you've messed your life up. Somebody comes along like your son, and gives me a leg up, I'll take it. Even from a kid, I'll take it.
Jim Caviezel in Pay it Forward (2000)

Oh my god, I totally was thinking "that's probably that Pay It Forward" movie, and I never even saw it.

#2 was on the tip of my tongue, but it's been years since I've seen Schindler's List. I'm still bitter Ralph Fiennes didn't win the Oscar for his role.

That scene where he's looking in the mirror and saing "I pardon you," like he's trying on mercy to see how it fits ... :shudder:

It was a crime against HUMANITY that Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar for playing the same character he's always played: The old sarcastic cocky cop.

A crime against humanity I tell you!

haha, I saw this before the edit and completely knew what scene you were talking about. The depth of my Ralph Fiennes knowledge is freakish.

At first I thought that was Bob Mitchum in Cape Fear, but now I'll say it's Bogie in The Big Sleep.

I was waiting to see when you'd show up to figure that out. And there's probably a couple more you'd know too.

That is exactly what I thought. I heard it's one of the most awful movies of all time, so I never saw it. But when I read that line over and saw the year of release I thought hmmm.....

The teacher one from 1969 seemed familar but then I noticed you'd put it as a western and now I have no idea.
