I'm willing to bet the Celtics make the playoffs this year.
When's the last time the Phillies made the playoffs(your GM traded away the playoffs this year to the Yanks for a bag of baseballs) since you want to bag on the Red Sox who made the playoffs the past 3 seasons and won the 2004 WS. The Fightin' Phils last playoff appearance was what...The Wild Thing debacle in 1993...do you even remember that?

Comparing your city's sports championship prowess when you're from the city of brotherly cheesesteaks is heading into battle unarmed my friend.

Oh, and I seriously don't think the Iggles will make the playoffs.
One win against one of the 3 worst teams in the league does not convince me that a 4-12 team that lost its best player will be a champion.

Notes:

- We were 6-10.
- We had our defense literally imploded by injuries.
- Best Players: McNabb and Westbrook, not Owens. Even then. Yes. No bias. They mattered more.
- Coincidentally, McNabb and Westbrook were injured and done half way through the year. Or maybe not.
- We signed Donte Stallworth and Darren Howard, not to mention Shawn Barber, drafted Brodrick Bunkley, have a healthy offensive and defensive line again.

Boston fans were the biggest martyrs in the world back in 2003. They hadn't won a precious World Series in so long, and moped despite the Pats winning it all. I couldn't stand it.

The Phillies didn't make the playoffs because of sucky ownership and the dreaded Ed Wade. The Abreu move was brilliant. Guess what? We're better without him! Shane Victorino is the best thing to happen to this town since Howard and Utley.

I wasn't very old in 1993. As I said I wasn't born until post-championship era. Let's say that I'm an Acthung Baby. All I know is the Wild Thing threw the ball as hard as he could all the time. Sounds like a very overrated pitcher in today's game... (*cough* Verlander *cough*)

You drastically underestimate the value of a healthy, relatively happy TO. Look at McNabbs numbers pre-Owens and when he had him. He was the only legit receiver they had.

I don't know if I'd consider getting Stallworth as an upgrade either.

Really like the use of the "we" term do you?

You underestimate the value of Stallworth. You can't tell me with a straight face the Stallworth is not an upgrade. He's better than any other receiver we got. It has to be an upgrade knowing that fact. By definition. It's an improvement, upgrade, whatever.

I'm from Philadelphia, we only say "we."

Technically a may be an improvement in the same way going from a '92 geo metro to a '98 chevy cavalier is an improvement. It's not really something to brag about. Who knows, maybe he'll have a good season, but he needs to learn to catch the ball before that can happen.

If you do some homework on him, you'll find that he's had a lot of problems catching the ball throughout his career. One game doesn't undo an underachieving career.
