This is kind of different to the 5 most joyous songs thread. Songs that make me feel happy aren't necessarily joyous. That sounds like a contradiction, I know, but sometimes songs sound happy (musically) but have depressing subject matter.

"It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones always makes me happy for some reason, but the lyrics are not really happy.

It's also cheesy as hell, but I  that cheezy song .

Beautiful Day (U2)
Window In the Skies (U2)
I Feel Fine (The Beatles)
Bad Touch (Bloodhound Gang)
It Can't Be Nashvile Everynight (Tragicaly Hip)

"Downtown" - Petula Clark
"Don't Let Them Take You Down (Beautiful Day!)" - Jesse Malin
"Life Is Beautiful" - Ryan Adams
"Short Skirt/Long Jacket" - Cake
"Give Me Tonight" - Taylor Hicks

1. Ordinary Day - Great Big Sea
2. Trains to Brazil - Guillemots
3. What a Beautiful Day - The Levellers
4. God Only Knows - Beach Boys
5. Stay The Night - Ghosts

1. National Express - The Divine Comedy
2. Friday i'm in Love - The Cure
3. One More Time - Daft Punk
4. 4 Kicks - Kings of Leon
5. Octopus's Garden - The Beatles

Blur - Tracy Jacks
Supergrass - Alright :hyper:
Pulp - Common People :dancing:
U2 - Even Better Than The Real Thing
Beck - Sexx Laws :sexywink:

there are tons more songs...

My #1, makes me feel happy song has to be U2's Angel of Harlem, there's just something about it, no matter what mood I'm in.

Weezer - Island in the Sun

  Such a CUUUTE song!

Bloc Party - Banquet, Hunting for Witches, Waiting for the 7.18, I Still Remember

Yes, "I Still Remember", lyrically bittersweet, but damn, that song just makes you want to jump up and down in spasms of joy. Again, I'll beat my "Like Eating Glass" drum b/c that song just rules the world!!!!

Arcade Fire - . . . Wake Up (because I expect U2 to come out  )

 Me too!!! I remember at the Vegas show, Wake Up comes on and all the fans in the know jump up and start screaming and singing the "Oh! Oh! Oh Oh Oh Oh!" part and the people next to me (looking VERY out of place at the show), still sitting, were like,"What's going on? Is it about start? What does everyone else know that we don't?" If I wasn't so into U2 about to come out I would have been laughing at them!

RHCP- Can't Stop, Fortune Faded
Daniel Powter- Bad Day
Split Enz- I Got You
Mute Math- Typical
U2- City Of Blinding Lights, Big Girls Are Best, Mysterious Ways, Zoo Station
Badfinger- No Matter What
Beatles- Tomorrow Never Knows, A Day In The Life, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Rain
Big Audio Dynamite- Rush
The Clash- Train In Vain
Elvis Costello- Pump It Up
Fergie- Fergalicious
The Kinks- Jukebox Music
Led Zeppelin- Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
Oasis- Morning Glory
The Police- Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Queen- Under Pressure
The Raconteurs- Hands
The Rolling Stones- Paint It Black

well, a little more than 5  but they all make me happy!
