We have a record: Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

http://forum.interference.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=139112&highlight=party

We'll listen together on Friday, September, 30th @ 11:00 PM EST.

Use this link to sort out how that translates for your zone.

Do you need the record? Post here, we'll spend the next 6 days getting it out to those who need it (and you will buy it after, cause it's one of the greatest collections of music ever).

I'll open the party link 1/2 hour before the party on Friday, and we'll be "rocking all over the world" to steal a line from Status Quo!

Get ready for Jungleland!

excellent. i don't have to work. and i have no life, so i won't be going out on friday night anyway.

I can't wait for the 30th anniversary edition of Born To Run, which is supposedly forthcoming...

That will probably be the moment I'll buy this album. I already know all the songs on it, so I can always play it in my head.

And oh, a suggestion for a next listening party. It may be nice not to go for the old classics, but to listen more recent records. Say, classics of the past 10 years. And I noticed that 1997 alone had a whole bunch of great records (Bob Dylan - Time Out Of Mind, The Verve - Urban Hymns, Radiohead - OK Computer, The Chemical Brothers - Dig Your Own Hole, Buena Vista Social Club - S/T & Texas - White On Blonde to name just six).

And unfortunaly, it's again at a time (Saturday night at 5 AM) I can't be here. :|

Ah, one of my favourite albums of all time. If I'm hooked back up by then (currently moving), I'll pick up a new copy (have no clue when my old one is and don't expect to find it in time) and join in.

Hard to believe it's been 30 years....

Erm, is it maybe a good idea to postpone this listening party for a few weeks...

Details about Born to Run box set seeping out

It could be a rumor or it could be fact. According to AOL Music, the Born to Run 30th Anniversary edition will include a 44 page, full color booklet of unpublished photos, a digitally remastered version of the CD, Live In London, a never before seen, complete two hour concert from the Born To Run tour that was shot by the BBC in November, 1975 at the Hammersmith Odeon, a second DVD with The Making Of Born To Run, which is supposedly a brand new documentary including new interviews with Bruce, the entire band and recording team, plus extensive archival photos, unreleased versions of songs and historic, previously unseen footage from the Springsteen vaults. As an added bonus, the set includes Bruce's historic 1973 performance from the CBS Records Convention in Los Angeles". The whole shebang is supposedly going to be released on November 15. We've got one word: Awesome!

So a release party on Friday 18 November (or Saturday 19 November) would be awesome. It could be followed by viewing the 1975 and 1973 concerts.
