Ok, me pappa gave me a $25 gift certificate to Media Play that he got for Christmas and never used. I now have to try to decide what to buy with it. Things I was contemplating:

Dropkick Murphey's - live album(cant remember the name)
The Clash - live album(From Here to Eternity)
Longwave - what ever their album is called
The Libertines - what ever their album is called
Burning Brides - what ever their album is called
Cat Power - You are Free
Liam Lynch - Fake Songs
Burning Brides - Burn Piano Island, Burn
Possible electronic type music cd's for a change
Various other cd's

also contemplated:

The Clash - DVD, what ever it's called
Other possible music-related DVD's - Meeting People is Easy, etc

What do you all think? I have no clue. I cant decide.

Anyone like The Libertines? I havent even heard their stuff, but they've gotten great reviews all over the place.

Which would you choose? If you know my tastes well, I'll let you recommend me things that arent on my list. If you dont know me well and recommend crap, I will despise your recommendations and spew them out like so much spoiled milk.

ps - I apologize for the severe lack of info on album title names, it's 3:30 AM while I type this, I'm far too tired/lazy to look them all up

From Here To Eternity is excellent.
The Libs are pretty cool, I've got like 5 mp3s and I love all of them. If you like the Clash/the Jam, you should like the Libertines.

what a waster
what a fuckin' waster

Seriously I do recommend downloading their stuff first. I've seen quite a few posts on other message boards on how they suck and all but I think they're excellent.

Songs to try:

What A Waster
Time For Heroes
I Get Along
Up The Bracket

Crikey, that's all I have!

The Division Bell by Pink Floyd :)

Already got it. Good recommendation though.

It looks like The Libertines are pretty good then. I'm listening to one of their songs right now, it's pretty good.

Ok, I listened to a few Libertines songs, I didnt like them much at all.

Sounded like a British version of mall punk for the masses.

The Libertines. What a sorry ass band. The "hype" machine rolls on I guess.

If you want some good music, go buy the debut (and only) album by The La's.

NOOOOO!!!!! it's got to be dropkick murphys!!

and by the way, the live album is called 'live on st. patrick's day'

and the clash dvd is 'westway to the world'

mofo, really...i'm ashamed...;)

yeah, you too (heheh you too...dammit that shouldn't still be funny)

mofo, i really think you need to get 'from here to eternity'. the live version of all the songs on it kick ass.

I would get that but I have so much other Clash stuff that I'm 100% satisfied with listening to now, that I dont know if I want to get that cd just yet.

Decisions freaking decisions.

Should I get the live Dropkick Murpheys album or their first album? I couldnt decide that. Would it be weird for the live album being the first album of theirs I own?

I would get The Explosion, but they didnt have it at Media Play when I scouted it out yesterday.

I'm downloading a song by them right now EP. A song by the name of : Such Great Hights.

yes indeed, if you like Death Cab for Cutie at all this is the same guy.......

thats a quality song, if you like it you will enjoy the album....

go fucking crazy and buy tales of the inexpressable by shpongle

or failing that Northern Sulphuric Soul by Rae & Christian

or maybe something by dispatch. the general by them is a great song. i haven't really been able to get into the whole album but i'm recommending it anyway so deal.

everyone at the campus station was playing the postal service album...i still haven't heard it yet

I ended up buying no cd's at all. I never fail to disappoint!!!

I decided to hold off on some cd buying, I was far too indecisive so I just gave up.
