are you kidding me? we are tied with the predators for goodness sake, we have 1 point in the last 5 games, played terribly for the past 25, with no signs of a turn around

and ive been saying all year that the blues sucked, even when they were racking up the points, it was more luck than anything, we just dont have any depth at the forward position and our top defensive pair is out for the year

i think its about time the blues traded away their big money players, tkachuk, demitra, weight (keep pronger), and start rebuilding after the strike

the current players had their chance to win the cup (see last year) and choked, its time for a new direction, even a new coach

Get rid of Weight??? You're crazy. He's easily their most valuable offensive player, and the only Blue who showed up last year in the playoffs.

Let me rephrase that, since there were a few Blues players who did in fact show up: He was the Blues playoff MVP last season, and the only one who showed up in game 7. He was a man on a mission, practically taking Vancouver to the 7th game all by himself.

I think you're jumping the gun just a bit there. As you noted, the Blues have sustained major injuries this season. It's amazing how well they're doing considering this fact. It's not that they need to rebuild; it's that they need to stay healthy.

well its well known that if the blues dont do something signficant in the postseason this year there will be a major overhaul, the owner is sick of paying the big bucks and not getting anything in return, as i would be

part of me is hoping that happens, weight is making over 8 million, tkachuk 11 million, demitra 7 million, pronger 10+ million

its not smart to have so much invested in so few guys, especially guys that choke in the playoffs

Let me first say I believe every NHL player is overpaid. That said, I don't think Doug Weight is overpaid relative to his market value. As for Tkachuk, I completely agree. How did anyone ever decide to pay him 11 mill? For what? It boggles the mind (though not as much as Holik's contract).

its gonna be interesting to see what happens if a hard cap of around 30-35 million is implemented as has been talked about

im hoping there is, the nhl cannot afford the salaries that are being paid out now, there just isnt nearly enough revenue to support it

thats why i want the blues to get rid of their big salaries now, get some good young players in return and have some payroll flexibility in the new system

so we shall see, and with that, im going to bed

Wow, things got personal between the Ducks and the Avs tonight! Surprisingly nasty, and I only caught the last 10 minutes or so.

It reminded me alot of Mighty Ducks 2--especially the better team losing.

Bertuzzi might wear pink panties, but...

The Canucks are the first team to 30 wins this year!

(Sorry, I'm not trying to brag.... they are still far from where I want them to be.)

I saw that - 4-0! Bad times in St. Louis right now....

Ah well... the Canucks just lost to the Rangers, so that's not good. They played about 18 minutes fo hockey tonight - all in the 3rd period. Finally they get burned by it.

did the rangers look good or was it an off night for the canucks?

we play them on wednesday, and i've heard that this really hasn't been a rangers season, but that they've been battling back 9 times as hard as they need to be and that they're just creaming everyone in their paths.

i don't like that they won over the canucks....
