Do they need any brochures printed in the USA? :sexywink:

We have tickets to see the Penguins when they come here to play. It's one of the only games we'll see in person this year. :|

See, this is what happens when you don't reply to my e-mails anymore - I have to become a detective of sorts to find out what's going on with you! :sexywink:
I know........... I feel bad. And then I start quarrels online with you over hockey. But it's not my problem you don't know everything. hee hee  I write you soon!

in-fighting amongst the Canuck contingency could not be good. :tsk:

LEMON PIE.....Any tickets for games, say, around Dec. 10-13? :hyper:

hey Zoneman, tickets are hard to come by. I was actually checking Ticketbastard last night and was only able to find standing room only tickets for one game out of the zillion that I checked on. No seat available for any games. If you are interested in going to a game, I can check around to see if I can obtain some, but don't hold your breath. :slant:

Suuuure, you will. :sexywink:

I suppose I'll just sit here an lament over it for the rest of my days... until one day, maybe one day, my darling Angel, you will return that e-mail. Until then, I simply cannot bare to think of it. It is unspeakable! Look away, look away...

its kind of sad that these games wont be on tv in the united states

im sure it would have gotten a lot of casual fans to watch, and maybe convert them into fans, but once again bettman has failed a golden opportunity to promote the sport

If you are lucky we might tell you all about it.

I am really excited! It is going to be super. I was watching some news on it last night and it was hilarious to see the players interviewed about the cold... they thought the worst would be their hands and feet but one guy observed: it's the equipment. It freezes and makes it impossible to catch a puck. lol Reminds me of the movie "Mystery Alaska". Today will be great. It will put a little punch back into the sport of hockey.

What? Are you serious? I heard it was going to be broadcast all across the US, and that it was gaining huge hype down there, too. Weird.. :eyebrow:

Yeah, they were talking to the active NHL teams that were playing after the alumni game, and they were saying they wouldn't be blocking any shots since the puck would be MUCH harder due to the freezing temperatures! I think the goalies will fare the worst. This is one game where they probably *want* to get a lot of shots so they can move around! The teams will probably play the trap just to piss them off, haha.

This should be an amazing game. I wish I didn't have to work today. I'll tape it, but it's never the same.

For sure! Sorry you have to work Griffith's. If it's any consellation... the only Canucks games I usually get televised are on Saturday nights at 10pm... so I tape those. It'll become my Sunday morning winter ritual to watch my team play. The only crap thing about living in the East so far.... no Nucks. :( Oh! except for Tuesday. :sexywink: Centre ice... Air Canada section, Bell Centre. I'll be the only one in the Vancouver Jersey. heh heh Can't wait.

well if there has been hype ive missed it, i really havent heard much at all about the game up until the past couple days

and most of the little talk i have heard about it is how stupid it is that its not on tv

the only way you can get it in the us is if you have a satellite dish and can get cbc

the only placei've heard anything about it is on here...and that doesn't count. tv tells me nothing.

apparently it's too important for ESPN2 to air poker games. and i know college football is huge, but i don't care about football. sure, i felt the same way about hockey last year, but now that i've changed my mind i can be all grouchy about it right?

as for CBC, i don't even know what that is :reject: but i'm sure here you'd need a satelite dish for it, unlike larrymullen'spopangel's illegal-sounding flirtatoius wink there...

cbc is the canadian broadcasting channel

stupid canadians

but seriously, this is like the 20th time espn2 has shown this years world series of poker, could it have killed them to put on the game? it would have been big ratings

Sorry Chizip. I agree it was stupid of them. It was a really fun game. Adorable comes to mind. :sexywink: God I love my hockey. Got World Cup tickets for next year! Canada vs. USA and then Canada vs. Slovakia. I quote: "The 2004 edition of the Canadian World Cup Hockey team wil be run by Wayne Gretzky". :hyper: *Here's to hoping for the Olympics round II.

well if it was "adorable" maybe im glad i missed it

id really just want to see the game tonight anyway

Always an ass.

It was 'adorable' in my eyes because I grew up watching that team. Anderson, Fuhr, Gretzky, Messier, Tikkanen et al. The Oilers were my childhood, but god forbid you could ever relate to anything special like that. I suppose it's a Canadian thing, after all hockey is our sport. :madspit:

Mine isn't illegal, we get CBC here in Southeastern Michigan for nothing.

That was an adorable game, Angel. I remember watching those players when I was a kid and it was really cool seeing them out there.

And how sharp was Don Cherry?

Okay, first things first - Chiz, the CBC is The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (not "channel" ;) )

On to the game... It was so cool to see Fuhr, Wayne, Jari, Mess, Anderson, Coffey, etc, all again in the Oiler colours of yore. Fuhr and Ranford both looked like they could sign an NHL contract today, and be amazing, no joke. I was disappointed that Gretzky didn't play much, but there again, no one did. The benches were too long for how short the game was. Two 15 minute periods is just not enough for 4 lines. Each line got only about 8 shifts total. I think at the very least they should have had three 15 minute periods. It would still have been only a 45 minute game, which would have been fine. Oh well.

When he did play, Gretz looked good out there, too. Too bad Kurri couldn't keep up with him. He should just play for the Coyotes, though, seriously. He's still good enough. He would give them a much needed playmaking centerman and powerplay specialist... Man, it was nice to see him in an Oilers uniform again!

But that was hockey for the pure joy of it. 57,000 people watched it... a record for a hockey game. And they all seemed to enjoy the -20 C. temps. Only in Canada....

PS. Don Cherry is more Ontarian than Canadian at this point. He's *so* biased for the Leafs it's getting ridiculous. But that goes for pretty much the entire CBC.

Methinks someone is bitter. A good old 5-3 bitter.

Hazah.

Oh, actually, I'd completely forgotten about the Leafs game! But since you bring it up, the Canucks plainly sucked tonight. Worst game of the year, bar none. They lost for the first time all season at home, which tells you something. I think there's something going on inside the locker room, or something behind the scenes... I can't put my finger on it, but something is not right with the Canucks. They could blow teams out, but lately they're not even really trying that hard... they're barely beating teams they should be crushing. But it's more than just the stats and the wins. Yeah, it's in the effort. Something's amis, and it's really too bad. I have a feeling it's Crawford. The guy has no composure. I still think Ted Nolan would be just what they need, but I know he's not interested in coaching anymore.

What a heritage classic.

Some thoughts:

Best part of the night: Messier then the flower then the Great one getting introduced. Another thing, the CBC should have made the crowds noise come through better. Its the crowd that i want to here roar, thats what gives me goosebumps.

The alumni game wasnt great but it was fun! The rat is the man!

Low moment of the night: Wayne's daughter singing i will remember you, and she lypshnched!! Not cool, i'd have thought that wayne would teach his kids to do it right. Oh by the way his daughter looks alot like Janet...!!!!

The game itself was a good game, the ice wasnt great but there was a good few hits and even though the OIL lost they played alright and made it interesting at the end.

All in all one great night.

And Don Cherry, i met him last night. He has a restaurant here and we were at a bar close by and heard some of the players and Don were going there so we headed down. He pulled up in this limo/truck with huge antlers on the grill. He waved, we asked to come in, he laughed. Maybe next time!

Oh and a buddy of mine works downtown at a pretty nice restaurant (sorrientinos) and the Montreal new and old team booked the place on Firday nad left a 10,000 dollar tip(there were a 120 ppl) Not bad!
