Will you be able to beat this list? No you won't.

I only have 1 song to ad:

The Living Dead- Suede.

That tune makes me tear every time I hear it. Fucking junkies.

Where's all the money gone?
I'm talking to you
All up the hole in your arm
Is the needle a much better screw?
But oh what will you do alone?
'Cos I have to go.

Where is this life of fun that you promised me?
Nothing here works but your works and I mean it
I have to leave
But oh what will you do alone?
'Cos I have to go.

If I was the wife of an acrobat would I look like the living dead boy?
You're on the wire and can't get back, let's talk about the living dead
Could have had a car, could have had it all,
Could have walked in the sky but we stare at the wall.

I know where the money's gone--
I know what you do
'Cos I've seen the hole in your arm and
The needle's a much better screw
But oh, what will you do alone?
'Cos I have to go.

Fuck I don't have that song. I only have their first 3 albums.

I was almost going to include the Beautiful Ones from Dog Man Star from but left it out for some reason.

I think it's important we don't confuse 'melancholic' with 'melodic', though. For instance, I would consider Green Day's Time Of Your Life melodic, not melancholic.

Anyway, here goes...

2. Hey You - Pink Floyd
3. Wasted Time - Eagles
4. Everybody Hurts - REM
5. Only When I Lose Myself - Depeche Mode
6. Low Man's Lyric - Metallica
7. One (live w/ strings) - U2
8. Street Spirit (fade out) - Radiohead
9. When You're Gone - The Cranberries
10. They Dance Alone - Sting
11. Love Hurts - Nazareth
12. The Final Cut - Pink Floyd *really the whole album*
13. She's Leaving Home - The Beatles
14. Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles
15. Into The Great Wide Open - Tom Petty
16. The End - The Doors
17. Jerry Was There - Kula Shaker
18. Run Baby Run - Sheryl Crow
19. Yesterday - The Beatles
20. Wake Up Dead Man - U2

Ryan Adams - How do you keep love alive
Ryan Adams - Sylvia Plath
Ryan Adams - Dear Chicago
Ryan Adams - La Cienega just smiled
Ryan Adams - Oh my sweet Carolina
Ryan Adams - Come pick me up
