20 20 cricket

personally i think this version of the sport should be sold to the americans

but the downside is the americans will see this as nothing more than a ripoff of baseball, with the ball bouncing once before the batter launches at it

Well Baseball was a ripoff of Cricket in the first place.

Really though 20/20 must surely be the future for Cricket...

Certainly in terms of drawing crowds to matches, I'd agree with you.

You might not be old enough to remember this being said when ODIs were introduced.

i think 20 20 cricket has a massive potential to increase the fan base of cricket and increase crowd numbers
however the other 2 forms of the game must also be plugged.
in a 20 20 match you don’t get to understand the rules and finer point of cricket that come into effect in the test matches.
i also think that the effect of the 20 20 will be lost if there are too many matches played in a short space of time.

i do love to watch the 20 20 but i also appreciate the other 2 forms of the game. ideally all cricket fans would be this way

^I agree. I see 20 20 as like a Beginner's Guide to Cricket to ease you in gently!
