I used to gobble up cassette singles like crazy! My cheesiest one was Everybody Everybody by Black Box. I used to be a guido from 1989-1991. I had Gonna Make You Sweat by C+C Music Factory too.

A truly great year indeed. However, nowhere near the best.

I'd throw my two cents in and say 1969

Abbey Road
Led Zeppelin
Hot Rats
Willy and the Poor Boys
Let It Bleed, and
Bitches Brew

all came out that year.

Man, you guys have to go draggin' out my junior and senior years in high school. I still have a Ned's guilty pleasure occasionally

There was so much great music that came out within a two year period that I still haven't gotten out of my system.

Pearl Jam's Ten is one of those landmark albums, alongside the Joshua Tree and Counting Crows' August and Everything After, that marks a musical watershed in my life... one of those albums that makes the hair on your neck stand up, and you know you're not gonna be the same ever again.

Here's a few more of 1991's gems that still hold up, at least for me:

Matthew Sweet - Girlfriend
The La's
The Ocean Blue - Cerulean. By far the best from one of my favorite bands.

Leisure is, 'Sing' and 'There's No Other Way Apart', unlistenable to me.

But yeah 1991.

Screamadelica
Blue Lines

Good stuff.

I also had The Power by Snap. I loved that song. The cassette single had a cool instrumental of it too.
1991 was great year in music, but of course there were other great years like 1967-69 and 1987.

How bout Fear by Toad The Wet Sprocket.
That was a 1991 release I believe, and the best album of an underrated band.
