i need to hear more good tunes. now.

keep in mind i'm listening to the following tracks excessively at the moment:

1. gorillaz - dare.

2. gorilliaz - dare.

3. gorillaz - dare.

4. kanye west - workout plan

5. gorillaz - dare.

6. kanye west - gold digger.

7. gorillaz - dare.

----

i'm afraid my playlist needs a bit more variety.

couple this and my usual classical music listening habbits, my lists have been as unoriginal as a u2 setlist.

tell me what to download. if i think the song sucks, i'll let you know. if it kicks ass, i'll kiss your lips with my face's mouth.

get on with it.

caisenma

while i'm thinking about this, get some wolf parade to prep you for the upcoming show.

danka

and please bear in mind i'm currently stuck with 56k (it's still 1992 where i live), so it'll take years to download this shit.

and even longer before you find out my opinion on it.

but i know how important my feelings are on things, so i'm sure you'll check back with this thread!

no, i know that one already. sorry.

isn't that their new single? i thought it was on the wedge a couple of weekends ago...speaking of which, if i can stay awake a little while longer, the wedge will be on muchmusic in 50 minutes. did you see it? any good vids?

oh, i actually want some shoegazer stuff. who of you know any of that?

one of the best women to ever grace the face of this planet is really into this stuff, i should 7ust ask her.

i love her.

yeah it's the single. did you get to see the whole video?? i only caught a clip of it and it looks pretty good. other good songs on the new cd are 'empty' and 'police and the private', so maybe try those.

i missed the wedge earlier, but tonight's playlist is here.

and if you're looking for shoegaze, get some shit from 'ride'.

ok, you want a list?

here.

- new pornographers - sing me spanish techno

- kanye - diamonds of sierra leone

- m.i.a. - 10 dollar

- lcd soundsystem - losing my edge

- out hud - it's for you

- vitalic - la rock 01

- las savy fav - yawn yawn yawn

- ride - like a daydream

this was kinda tricky since we listen to a lot of the same stuff.

be sure to use many angry smilies if you hate it.

Ride! I never saw them live. I had the chance back in 92, but didn't. I regret.
when my family finally got our first cd player back in '89, the 'smile' ep is one of the first cd's i bought.

i just looked it up on amazon, and it says the release date is october 1990, but i swear on my life that i bought it when we went to los angeles for a vacation in the summer of '89. weird.

good stuff. i absolutely adored that cd until the stone roses came along.

Sigur Ros - Glósóli

The White Stripes - The Denial Twist

fuck i dunno

Don't forget "Vapour Trail" by Ride as well, and all of Nowhere too.

I love Shoegaze, I don't know if anyone else does these days, though I've seen a bit of revival. Other good albums, Kitchens of Distinctions "Death of Cool" - hard to find but wonderful, and the "Drive that Fast" single off of "Strange Free World" is amazing, Adorable's "Against Perfection", Chapterhouse's "Whirlpool" and Spacemen 3's "Taking Drugs to Make Music to Take Drugs To" - you can take that title however you wish.

If you like "Dare", I assume you also like the Happy Mondays, if not, go for them as well. Sadcore like the Red House Painters and American Music Club is also handy if you're feeling a bit moody and need to break from it. Sheesh, I don't really know.

Rachel's - Arterial
Xiu Xiu - Pox
Antony and the Johnsons - Spiralling
Devendra Banhart - Pensando Enti
Iron & Wine - My Lady's House
Xiu Xiu - Sad Pony Guerrilla Girl
Labradford - WR
Red Sparowes - Alone and Unaware...
Pelican - Aurora Borealis
Xiu Xiu - I Luv The Valley Oh!

many more
