U2 Number ONE Best Ever Song
Proof is in the pudding as they say and we've always said U2 are the greatest band in the world, now that their song "One" has been voted the Best Song Ever, the pudding has been served.
Globally respected publication Q magazine has put together a list of the 1001 Best Songs Ever, and U2's song "One" has made it to the top of the list.
Amazingly the song, which was recorded in Berlin as part of the "Achtung Baby" album, only peaked at No. 7 in the charts. Although, it has been covered by the likes of the late Johnny Cash and sampled by Craig David.
The Edge said of the honour, "When we named it, I always knew it would be number one at something."
Another eight U2 songs made it into the top 1001 but only "One" got into the top 100 beating the likes of Elvis and The Beatles to the top spot.
Although it has never been revealed who Bono based the lyrics of "One" on, legend has it that the song is a conversation with his long term friend and artist Guggi.
