Bono on Oprah Monday

In recognition of World AIDS Day, Oprah talks with former President Bill Clinton and U2 frontman Bono about the AIDS epidemic in Africa. President Clinton shares how he hopes to save lives from this modern day plague through his personal foundation and tells Oprah, "I think it's just as rewarding as being president was." Oprah joins Bono as the cameras roll on an early recording session for his powerful new single, "American Prayer," a song with a plea to the United States to understand the world's needs. Later in the show, Nelson Mandela invites Oprah to Cape Town, South Africa for a star-studded concert benefiting his "46664" AIDS awareness campaign. BeBe Winans closes the show with a moving performance of "My Christmas Prayer" from his newly released album bearing the same name.

The Oprah Winfrey Showairs internationally Monday, December 1, 2003. Check local listings.
