Best Of
U2 CD out tomorrow
By Sheila Green
NEW YORK, NY Monday 11.4.2002 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Tomorrow is the day.
On Tuesday U2 will release their second best of compilation, The Best Of 1990-2000. The CD covers the all the albums from Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Pop, to All That You Can't Leave Behind. It also has some tracks from the Original Soundtracks I collaboration with Brian Eno as the Passengers--that period featured some of U2's most experimental work.
U2 guitarist the Edge says this new Best Of set will sound very different from The Best Of 1980-1990, which came out in 1998. "The period from Achtung Baby right through to All That You Can't Leave Behind is kind of the story of us taking the idea of a rock 'n' roll band and abstracting it as far as you possibly could, and then reconstructing it again. And, you know, I think that's really, in a nutshell, what we did during that period--at every turn it was really an attempt to find inspiring places to go as songwriters and, you know, artists."
