Bono writes with Gavin Friday for Andrea Corr

Bono has reunited with Gavin Friday and written a song for the movie 'In America'. The track titled 'Time Enough For Tears' was written in collaboration with his long time partner Maurice Seezer and will feature the vocals of Andrea Corr from The Corrs.

This is the second time Friday and Bono have worked together. The first time was for the movie "In The Name Of The Father". Friday wrote the theme song and Bono performed it. 'Time Enough For Tears' is however totally different in sound to 'In The Name Of The Father' and said to be like a 40's Col Porter tune with Ella Fitzgerald type vocals.

"The song is written from a girl's perspective. It's very poetic, very romantic. It's got that "You take away the sun" beauty and nakedness. It's a beautiful song" Gavin tells fans at his website. "Bono saw the film and was blown away by it. He wanted to work with us and something happened, organically."

Gavin Friday and the classically trained Maurice Seezer have been working together since the late 80s. The team arranged the Michael Hutchence track 'The Passenger' on the Batman Returns soundtrack. Their credits also include Baz Lurhmann's 'Romeo and Juliet' and the score for another Aussie film 'Angel Baby'.

'In America' is about an Irish family who move to New York after the death of one of their children. The movie will have a general release in May 2003.
